Came in again with the family a few months back while vacationing in Lake Tahoe. I have to be honest: I was really looking forward to coming here again & I was not disappointed. Granted, it's very pricey. But if you know that going in and can stomach the bill when it comes, then you are sure to enjoy your experience. If you are lucky enough to be treated to the meal (thanks again, Dad!), sit back & enjoy the ride. The staff, everyone down to the sommelier, and food are great. You get what you pay for. The rib eye was great this time. I enjoyed every succulent bite. The views of the Lake are breathtaking. It's my favorite restaurant when vacationing in the area. Can't wait to come back next time!

Besides fabulous service, and excellent food, the view can't be beat. Food is actually fresher and healthier than other local restaurants. Salmon wild and fresh and delicious. All food deliciously prepared and an extensive menu. Great wine list too.

I came to Incline Village for a week long work trip. I came to the Lone Eagle Grille every single day I was there. Every single day. Now what made me keep coming back for more and more? Literally everything. The Staff: The first night we had dinner at Lone Eagle, it was a gorgeous summer evening, a perfect 76 degrees outside. We were originally seated inside, but as our eyes gazed at what we were missing out on, we requested to be put outside. The staff calmly and easily accommodated our request at the next availability. And seeing as how we came here everyday, the staff; from the waiters/waitresses, hostesses, and even the valet greeted us each evening as though we were locals. We really felt at home here. The wait staff happily answered all our questions about the menu and engaged in just the right amount of small talk. Lastly, many of the staff here are extremely pleasing to look at. Half the staff looks like the could be models! The Venue: Everything here is so picturesque, yet, doesnt translate well into actual pictures. The scenery is best taken in by sight, though i tried and tried to get the perfect picture of what my eyes were beholding. We sat both indoors and outdoors at some point during the week, and indoor area is perfect as well. High vaulted ceilings give you such a roomy feeling. The wrap around windows allow you to take in the view without the breeze. We also came here one night just for a drink, and took it to enjoy next to the fireplace. How much more perfect do you need?! The Food: The real star at any restaurant is the food, and I had the privileged of trying many many things. First off, they give you a basket of bread, one of which is a garlic bread with huge pieces of garlic, SO GOOD. I wish they whole basket was just that bread. Sides: - Broccolini: Literally order this every meal we had, such a perfect side with a great kick of flavor. Must have for each meal, we even ordered 2 for the last meal! - Yukon smash potato: Eh on these, nothing wrong with them but nothing to write home about. - Garlic mash puree: YUM. perfect side for any meat dish. Must get. Entrees: - Salmon with dungeness crab: Probably my least favorite entree, nothing special but still pretty good - Duck breast: SO good. The duck breast, good medium rare, was just melt in my mouth delicious. The portion is also very hefty. - Lamb Chops: They're served a la carte; and don't seem like theres that much as you only receive two chops, but there is a lot of meat on these. The meat is so tasty and tender, by far my favorite entree the entire trip. Dessert: - Baked Tahoe - Presentation for this is far better than the taste. I only had a couple bites but i found the inner "brownie" to be weird tasting. My friend also said the same, but she consumed the whole thing... This place is awesomeeeeeeeee.

This is one of the funnest places in Incline. The food is good, not great. I'd rather eat in the bar area instead of the dining area, its more fun. There are plenty of drink options, and a great view. The firepit out on the back deck is amazing. Very reliable good time, every time.

Nice selection of cocktails, beer and wine. They even have Crispin Pear Cider. Appetizers were fantastic! Great place to enjoy the sunset after golfing, hiking, swimming, and other adventures. Forewarning: no swimsuits permitted. No, not a nudest colony -- cover up!!

This is my happy place! Great cocktail menu, great food menu. The staff looks like they were picked from a modeling agency. Service is top notch. Sitting outside by the firepit with a glass of wine at sunset with spectacular views of the lake is the pinnacle of what this world has to offer.

Excellent dinner tried their butternut squash soup with a short rib stock. Barimundi, halibut and duck breast were all good. Not pleased with cream less spinach. But everything else was good. Service was also very good. Had a dinner there in May and was not impressed but this dinner made up for it.

Here for cocktails, appetizers and dinner. The crab cakes are delicious, with a caper, lemon tarter sauce. Crispy and served hot, Fabulous! I wanted a light, refreshing cocktail. Our waiter recommended Summer in Provence. Light rose, fresh stone fruit, berries and prosecco ~ perfect! Dinner included Pork chop with grilled peach, was good; bison filet was awesome, tender and flavorful. Au gratin potatoes were perfect. Service is always good. View is spectacular

The braised short rib was apparently braised with a blow dryer. It was like a hockey puck. Sides were ok. There was quality in the ingredients, but a 'braised' entree should never be so horribly dry. Nice views, though.

Expensive but nice. Our group of six had an afternoon snack on a Monday and it was 60% filled with customers. The service was a bit slow but likely due to the influx of patrons. The menu was short which was nice because the restaurant focused on doing a few things really well. The Salami & Bell Peppers Pizza was really good and a little different from typical pizza. The dough was a little soft and the cheese was perfectly melted. The interior was very nice and the seats were excellent; the décor really captures the feeling of a higher-end lodge. The view of Lake Tahoe was also serene.

For some reasons this place gets a bad rap, however I've been here a few times and I've always had a great experience. It's a bit pricy but, that's expected from the Hyatt. I had a golden eagle, which was amazing, and a burger with the fried egg. Soooo tasty had some of the tuna poke which was also tasty! We're locals so we'll be back in down season, really nice that they offer a locals discount card!

I loved this place before I even ordered my first cocktail. Why? You walk in to get a bird's eye view of the interior--it looks like a big, luxurious cabin. You immediately see and feel that everyone's in a good mood. It makes you feel a bit excited to walk down the stairs to grab a drink, listen to the band (the nights we went, it was Ike and Martin, an awesome local duo). For all its rustic feel, it is definitely upscale. Dinner here is very good, but the dishes can be a little uneven given the high prices. So I'll give it 4 stars, but the view is more like 10 stars, because it sits smack dab on the eastern shore of Lake Tahoe. And there's nothing like a sunset over the water here, sitting around the fire pit, and just breathing in the colors of the sky. Everything was suddenly beautiful, life felt timeless, and even my wine tasted better. One of my favorite places in Tahoe.

Lone Eagle is a beautiful restaurant situated right on the shores of Lake Tahoe at the Hyatt Resort. It reminds me of an old lake lodge, with lots of dark hardwood, high ceilings, picturesque windows looking out to the Lake, and a beautiful fireplace in the center. I can just imagine this place during the heyday of Lake Tahoe, filled with upper class clientele, enjoying cocktails and conversation in between cruising in their Chris Crafts and Rivas, wasting the day away with friends. It must've been quite the scene, as it still is now, only the crowd is a bit more modern of course. We came here to raise a glass for a friend's birthday after enjoying the Friday Free Music on the Beach at Kings Beach. We chose to post up in the bar area, and snagged a big round table near the fireplace with deep and comfortable high back chairs. Every one of these classic lakefront establishments sports a signature frozen drink in the Summer. Here it's the Golden Eagle, a golden colored citrus and tequila concoction, with a deep floater of Grand Marnier, sure to do way more than take the edge off! So we ordered a round of these and we were three sheets to the wind in no time. When it came to food, I think I was a little out of my league here. The menu is really nice with great ingredients and very delicious sounding items, but it's just not my thing to spend more than $30 for an entree. This kind of makes this more a 3.5 star place for me. We settled on a few orders of their truffled fries ($8) and a smoked salmon pizza ($18) for our group of 6, and we all enjoyed it. After we finished up, we went outside to sit around the fire pit and carry on our conversation and wait out our buzz from the Golden Eagle! While we were there, we saw a lovely couple make their way down to an unoccupied cabana. Lounging on the lake shore? I guess that's a possibility, but I wonder what was really going on in there? We left before they emerged, but I'm sure they were not the first or the last. If the walls at Lone Eagle could talk...

Great food, service, and view! Try the short rib grilled cheese...AMAZING! The cauliflower leek soup was also delicious as well as the tomato/mozzarella salad. Oh, really good Moscow Mules too!

If you are looking for a high end dining experience while in Lake Tahoe, look no further than the Lone Eagle Grill. Recently renovated, this place did an outstanding job of taking care of us during a recent visit. We got an amazing table overlooking the lake. Our server was great, making recommendations and keeping our wine glasses filled. They have an extensive wine list and will work with you to find the one that is just right. I started with the hamachi tartar which was delicious and the perfect way to start my evening. And my New York strip steak was cooked perfectly and it's flavor was only rivaled by a couple of the sides we had, like the macaroni and cheese and the potatoes gratin ( yep, it was a night of cheese!) And for dessert, try the brownie with the salted caramel sauce. You can thank me later! And then if you have time- head out to the fire pit just outside the door, order a glass of wine and just indulge in what makes this spot so of truly magical . . . .the scenery. It's magical out there. If you want a great night out, the Lone Eagle Grille is just the spot!

Came for lunch and was promptly seated at a table with a wonderful view of the lake. There's a vegetarian menu and though I do eat meat, the dishes on the veggie menu looked too good to pass up. The butternut squash pumpkin soup was thick and creamy with a hint of spice, perfect for to warm you up. Next was the spaghetti squash with pesto sauce. A bit over-salted but otherwise had a nice tenderness to it and great for a light lunch. Overall, good food, great location and service.

My friend and I went here for happy hour. They were having a special that they offer on Tuesdays. Not sure if it is an off season offer or year round. Wine was 1/2 price which is the price I think it should be anyway. $13 for a glass of wine is a bit steep considering it is a carefully measured portion in a huge wine glass so 1/2 price puts where (in my opnion) it should be priced all the time. The appetizers were $5. This is a good deal. We both had the butternut squash risotto and it was very good. The table we were were sitting at had low chairs so that makes the table a bit high. My friend and I were sitting across from each other and somewhat hunched over and leaning forward to each other in order to carry on a conversation. The server picked up (with one hand) and clanked the wine decanters right in our ears. Then the server reached between us (over our heads) and put the silverware (wrapped in a cloth napkin) in between us whereas she could have just put it next to each of us. One of the servers and/or bartenders kept crashng the dishes behind the bar. Sounded like they were putting the bussed dishes in something but the noise was very loud and sounded like dishes broke. This was quite annoying and you could see other guests were annoyed by it as well. Many restaurants have that bad habit. Dishes should be cleared quietly. The live music entertainer arrived and had some set-up problems with some speaker noise feedback but hey, things happen! We did not stick around long enough to be able to say if we liked the music or not.The view of Lake Tahoe is fantastic and this really is a nice place. I think for the money, the servers should be more attentive. I would go back here again. It really is a special place.

This was a great evening! We arrived and the reservation was available immediately and at the correct time. We were seated at a great table with a wonderful view of Lake Tahoe in a very nice part of the restaurant. The team at the restaurant was wonderful. Our server was Jana from Arizona and she was the star of the evening! We ordered grilled mushrooms and Winnemucca Scalloped Potatoes as an appetizers. Spot on - great! Perfect! We were a group of four. I had the pork chop which was prepared perfectly. One of my guests had the elk and the other two had the bison. Again, prepared perfectly and spot on. For desert we shared cheesecake and a chocolate moose. What an end to a perfect evening. One detail - we had cocktails and one was prepared wrong. They quickly fixed it and comped the incorrect drink - we didn't even need to request it. The view of the lake was incredible. Very authentic "Tahoe" mountain/lake view. Also the dining room was spacious, you didn't feel crammed in. I very much look forward to the next time I can have dinner here. Oh, one other thing, they have a great valet parking service. It was a very busy evening and they were very quick in both parking and returning the car.

If you've ever been to Tahoe than you've more than likely been to Lone Eagle Grill, if your planning a trip to Tahoe, than you more than likely will end up at Long Eagle Grill! Located at the Hyatt in Incline Village, Lone Eagle offers up some pretty spectacular views of the beautiful crystal clear blue waters of Lake Tahoe... The food is great and they have some amazing cocktails. I haven't had to opportunity to eat lunch or dinner here, but I have had the opportunity to try some of their appetizers during a pit stop on a afternoon. Their signature cocktail the Golden Eagle which is a frozen blend of Gold Tequila, Orange Liqueur Margarita Mix with a Orange Juice Grand Marnier Float and a Fresh Lime. Their bloody mary's are pretty awesome as well. Keep in mind through that this place getting pretty busy in the afternoons during the summer months! A must stop if your in town :)

The food was amazing, the drinks are awesome. The only reason why I gave it 4 starts instead of 5 is due to the the fact that portion is too small. Or maybe I'm just too hungry. Fire Pit outside is a plus to relax chill and get your drinks on with friends. Don't forget to give credits to the guys that plays and sings with his guitars and serenade you all night long.

I really like this restaurant a lot. If I could give it 4.5 stars I would, but I'll round up to 5. Food is usually very good, but view is incredible. The view can't be beat! This is the best place to eat and view the lake (in my opinion). Prices are outrageous ($22 for a burger), but I'm sure their overhead is outrageous too. I eat here almost every time I come to North Shore / Incline. It's located in the Hyatt across from the main hotel on the lakeside. The hotel is a nice place to stay too.

I had been waiting to try this place for months and finally went last week on a beautiful evening around sunset. We decided to go to the lounge and order drinks and apps considering I heard mixed reviews about the value of food. Bartender was a snob to us.. Probably because we are youngish... 30! Although were dressed nicely, friendly and polite she basically threw the menu at us and was very rude. I assumed because we didn't fit the exact mold of her upscale Incline clientele, but honey I probably make more in a half day than you do in a week. Speaking of cash, the prices are insanely expensive for what you get here.. $20 + apps, Upper $30-60 entrees.. Not including sides. Is this a Vegas steakhouse.. No. A Michelin star rest in NY or San Fran.. Hell no. When you start at this price point and above, you expect great food.. No matter where you are. Especially Tahoe! We ordered crab cakes.. Good but nothing special. Bread basket.. Really we paid for this. Pizza, pretty okay. And the whole reason I wanted to come here.. The beef carpaccio. First off, this is the only place around that has this dish right now, and i absolutely typically love this dish. If it's on the menu, I'm ordering it no matter what. So in the last 2 - 3 years since it became popular, I've literally had numerous beef carpaccios all over the US and World. (I'm lucky to have a job where I travel). However, Lone Eagles is the worst I've had.. except maybe when restaurants serve you sashimi (that is not carpaccio!!) My boyfriend liked it, but he's never had this dish before. I thought not enough sauce, not enough anything.. 2 hard boiled eggs on top.. Just lazy. I was disappointed because if it was good, I would be coming here every other week! Only reason to go back is the house wine is pretty good for a house glass and sitting outside at sunset at the fire pit with wine is very nice. (Expect tourists and families packed in during busy season tho and get a seat early b4 sunset starts). I don't recommend going here for food, granted we didn't eat dinner. Why pay such high prices for the same quality as Jason's in KB?

If you venture to Incline Village, Nevada, you should try out the Lone Eagle Grille. We had our wedding reception at the Lone Eagle Grille and the dinner could not have been better. First, working with Dayna at the Lone Eagle Grille was excellent. Dayna is attentive and helpful. She ensured that the wedding day menus were tailored to our party and that all our needs for the reception were met. The staff at the Lone Eagle Grille are top notch. My husband and I were beyond impressed and thankful that they were so kind to our guests. I mean- they are really good. The food is 5 star. I would try to filet if you ever visit. The soup and sashimi were also excellent as appetizers. Finally, the atmosphere of the restaurant really gave you a cabin feel- very warm and welcoming. I would try out the bar for a nightcap or after dinner drink. Lone Eagle Grille will always have my service. I would like to thank them for making my day so special.

FAIL. Want steakhouse prices with Golden Corral quality? Come here for a cowtastrophe. 1) the vinaigrette dressing on my salad was made with mayo. If you're going to ruin a decent vinaigrette that way, at least note on the menu that it's a "creamy" vinaigrette. Gross. 2) I ordered the $59 bone-in ribeye medium rare, without the gimmicky cumin butter or pesto sauces. It was overcooked (uneven medium well to well done) and very tough. The cumin butter was added anyway, which ruined the steak even more. I only ate it because I was in a group and didn't want to wait for these clowns to waste another piece of meat. $59 for a leather steak? Not again.

Our experience was the best EVER! The food was amazing. Loved the bison, lobster, roasted crimini mushrooms, and winnemucca au gratin potatoes. Our service team ROCKED! LOVED Billy our Server, Nina our Asst., and, Michelle our Sommelier made some excellent suggestions. Our dessert which is their signature, put it over the top. I can't wait to return!

  • Danny N.

The food is decent here and some of the dishes definitely stand out as hits in my book but there are some that fall short on our last visit. Overall though, I would say this place is a four star mainly for it's amazing views and outdoor patio seating. The set up of this restaurant really lets you enjoy what Tahoe has to offer during the summer with the lake view, fireplaces, and warm country chic design! Make a reservation and request for patio seating if you are there during the summer. There is a guitarist that has a portable mic who walks around the restaurant singing and playing some classics. No matter where you are in the restaurant, you can hear him. He's extremely good and adds a nice touch to a warm environment. There are beautiful fireplaces that you could sit by and watch the sunset while you wait to be seated...so get there before sunset and grab a glass of your favorite wine. It will definitely be worth it!

I facilitated a Lake Tahoe company retreat at the Hyatt followed by dinner and drinks at Lone Eagle. The food is excellent. Mussels appetizers were tasty. I had salmon that was perfectly cooked. The ambience and the large fire places are amazing.

This place is spectacular. Great food drinks and service all with an amazing view of the lake. The craft cocktails were great and the sausage pizza was delicious. If you are in incline it's a must.

Great service and tasty food and drinks! But their iPad beer, wine, and cocktail list was not an efficient piece of technology. Ours kept glitching. It was bulky and took too much room up on the table. I also think it would deter older folks. But the view is spectacular. We went and relaxed on the beach after our meal. You get what you pay for here

Amazing view - even if you are not on the actual patio. The view is directly of Lake Tahoe just over the Hyatt's private beach. The interior is nice too - country western theme with some nice big fireplaces. The restaurant is located across the street from the Hyatt Regency Resort. Reservations are needed. Service is top notch - they even have a sommelier that came around and personally introduced himself to us. Their drink menu is on an iPad and while it could be developed more, it was nice in that it suggested what foods go with what drinks, although sometimes the suggestion was useless (for one beer I looked at it suggests a sandwich off the lunch menu which was not being served at the time). The steak I ordered (6oz Brandt Beet Filet Mignon $46) was cooked perfectly and was so tender and flavourful. It is served by itself, but the sides that can be ordered are large enough to share for the whole table. I didn't particularly love any of the vegetable sides (mushrooms and carrots - $6-9) that we ordered. Dessert was good (creme brulee and lemon tort), though it would have been nice to see some lighter options on the menu like sorbet.

What a wonderful evening! I brought my fiancé here for his first meal in Lake Tahoe and we were both blown away. First off, when I called to make a reservation, the hostess I spoke to (Jessica) was very helpful. The restaurant was completely booked, but I explained to her that we just became engaged and I was dying to take my fiancé there. She was so kind and said she would call me if anything opened up. Lucky for me- something became available and she called me right away. Once we were sat, right in front of the cozy fireplace, we spent the next 2 hours enjoying the atmosphere (it's beautiful) and music (there's a guitar player who is fantastic). Our server (Roberto) was wonderful and suggested great dishes for us to try. After our dinner we decided to make s'mores at the fire pit outside the restaurant and it was just magical. Food was great and staff was amazing. We had a blast and will certainly will be coming back in the future.

I wasn't sure what to expect since it is part of the hotel, on the water, and after the reviews. I live in a tourist town and these types of places usually don't have the best food and service. I was pleasantly surprised. The wine list was OK (prices a little out of line), but all of our meals were delicious. The lamb chops were the second best I've ever eaten after Union Square Café in NYC. Cooked perfectly, tender, and a unique flavor profile.

Empty bar - 3:30 PM - had to stand at the bar while the bartender was chatting it up with another employee to get our drinks ( 2 diet cokes and an iced tea). He then left them for the server to deliver - 10 minutes later I asked if I could grab my own drinks. He said yes. Then no refills or service - we were going to get appetizers. Fed up I Had to hunt him down again to pay. I said "had to hunt you down, self serve, and hunt you down to pay - not good!" He then copped and attitude - "sorry man shift change!" - I said "really? I need to plan my vacation around shifts? You're in the service business!" He then slammed my change on the counter. What a punk - is this really the Hyatt?

Service was great and the scenery was beautiful. The food was horrible and way over priced. I ordered the $9 Mac and Cheese absolutely horrible. We paid $60 for a $14 bottle of wine retail. I experienced fine dinning at its best. There is reason for extraordinary small portion food and on top be so tasteless. There nothing worse than paying for food that one must season and reconstruct the food, that is what I did with the mac & cheese.

Decided on this place for our last dinner in Tahoe (been staying at the Hyatt all week) and it did not disappoint. Has a romantic log cabin feel and very inviting. We shared the caesar salad at first and nibbled on the bread they brought out. My bf ordered the peppercorn crusted NY steak, I had the stuffed salmon, and we split the zucchini/squash as a side. All of our choices were delicious with good portion size. Food is great just be prepared for the price tag

We had a wonderful,'romantic dinner with a view of the lake, excellent service, excellent food, excellent wine, and excellent ambience. Definitely make plans to sit outside on the veranda for happy hour as well. You are directly on the private beach owned by the restaurant's parent, Hyatt Hotels.

We went here for my dad's birthday and had a great experience. The staff were all polite and experienced and the food was so delicious. We ordered the crab-stuffed salmon, pork chop, steak, and barramundi. It was all delicious! I couldn't say much about the steak but their seafood is very high quality and they know how to make it right. We received a dessert for the birthday. It was some very delicious chocolate dessert, like a brownie or fudge but melt-in-your-mouth good. The staff said it was a special and it was VERY good. We also ordered the lemon bar, which was good (if you like lemon bars -- super sweet and sour!). Would definitely recommend!

By far the worst experience I've ever had at ANY restaurant. It first starts off by calling them and we are told that reservations are not required but recommended. So we weren't sure what time we would've liked to dine so we decided not to make reservations. Upon walking down the way into the Grille, as we were staying at the Hyatt, we were created by a hostess that advised us "Main dining room is for reservations only!" Not what we were advised, but OK.... We were then seated outside as seating outside was open as it was a brisk 55-58 degrees. We then proceeded to sit there for about 10minutes before a server assistant came and gave us water and we asked for assistance picking a bottle of wine. Michelle, our wine expert, was the only GOOD part. She went through many choices with us, unrushed. We were able to select a wonderful bottle of wine, which was the only thing that kept me from walking out. Now it had been about 25 minutes seated and we received bread and butter from our server and a rushed introduction. Where did she go??? We wouldn't know for another 15 minutes. At this time we had ordered our meal, apparently don't get the duck if you like duck we were told by our waitress. So at 40 minutes seated we had seen our waitress only twice. Within 5 minutes we received our appetizers, which I was extremely happy as I was starving at this point. Wow look at the time its been 30minutes since ordering, seems extremely long period for ordering two pieces of meat rare. So eventually the food came out, COLD!!! I was in no mood and had run out of patience for me to have it "re-grilled or heated up", you know cause that's why you pay $300 for dinner is to have your cold already over cooked meat "re-grilled or heated up" horrible!! This really ruined our Hyatt experience, where we are staying for our wedding in November, pretty sure that will be changed. All in all, I will never recommend this place to a single soul, nor will I ever return here. You will receive far better service at the restaurant's located inside the Hyatt.

I visited this restaurant with my daughter to celebrate Father's Day. When we arrived, the staff looked at as funny as if we didn't fit in with the crowd. Racist perhaps? I think so. I was carded twice. Once for ordering a glass of wine (the waiter said "you look young for your age" . . . but that as a bunch of BS, I look old enough to order alcohol. I think it was just an excuse to get info so that he could judge us). I was carded a second time when I presented my credit card. Really? Did I have to get carded twice? Wasn't once enough? Again, another fail! Our food was cold, it took forever to get our food, the portions were ridiculously small (gourmet or not, thee portions should be bigger), the waiter only checked up on us once throughout our whole meal, we sat for a long time waiting for extra bread and refills on our drinks. On a positive note, the atmosphere was nice. I wish I was a white man. Perhaps I would have received better service. I didn't even get a "Happy Father's Day" from the staff. Never the less, I shorted the waiter on his tip, he and the rest of the staff deserved it. I don't recommend this place. Stay away!

This place has amazing Lake Tahoe views. Their prices are on the higher end but so far what I tried was good. I had the Foie Gras with figs and hamachi tartar. Both very good. This is a very beautiful restaurant to have dinner or lunch! Highly recommended.

We stopped at the Lone Eagle on the recommendation of a friend... Glad we did!! I had the Ahi Poke, and my friends had the crab cakes and my BF had the Pastrami!! All was expertly prepared and the service was outstanding! Awesome view of Lake Tahoe as well. I would highly recommend the Lone Eagle!!

I really wanted to like this place but just couldn't. I gave it two stars instead of one because the view is amazing and the bar and dining room are quite comfortable. BUT... The ahi was salty, the baby kale salad was salty (how do you even do that?), and my friend's chicken was raw. Not under cooked, RAW. As in pink and smushy on the inside of a seared exterior. To top it off, it is incredibly overpriced. Drinks in the bar...maybe. Food? Don't do it!

A must go to place for a elegant dinner. If you like bison elk lamb and meat with e elegant environment and views it's a must go to.

Adding a star to upgrade to 3 stars, because there really is nowhere else to go in Incline Village, all year round that offers such an incredible view and comfortable outdoor casual drink. Would never go here for the food. Sub par, which is a shame because the location and the dining rooms are lovely. BUT- incredibly beautiful and perfect location to go for a sunset drink, if you go to the end of the Lone Eagle dock to the bar on the pier. After sunset, the fire pit is romantic, warm and inviting and you can always have a fun conversation with other visitors. Price- very expensive. For one, tiny plastic cup, half full of drink because I requested less ice- price 11.85 per drink. For a house vodka with splash of cranberry. So when you receive the check for you and your friend, and it's 23.70 plus tip for two tiny drinks- remember that you came here because you don't own a home on Lakeshore Drive. **Another update: lunch on 1/11/15. Delicious grilled cheese BBQ pork sandwich with tomato bisque. Worth what I'm sure was a ridiculous amount of calories- satisfying and yummy and perfect for a winter afternoon. If I could, I would upgrade a half star.

What can I say... Best Resturant on the Tahoe lake , best lamb chops I had in 10 years or so ( and I am from the Middle East ) Very friendly staff Great selection of wine Sunset time is amazing for a window table You should make reservations if you can And try the braised short ribs too if you have room. Will Come Back For Sure !!! Very good food and decor .

Good view. Nice interior. Average service. The food however is severely lacking... Unfortunately half the dishes our party of four ordered were average to below average. The two dishes I would not recommend are the petrale sol (tasteless) and the blue cheese wedge (tasteless). I love blue cheese wedges and sadly I have to say this was one of the worst I've ever had.

  • Aaron M.

Sat outside for the view! Fantastic food! Best bison (with blue cheese) I've ever tasted! Try it with the mushrooms and potatoes gratin! Only rated less than 5 stars since they served me before my wife. Food was top rate!

We ate here for dinner to celebrate my wife's birthday. The ambience was awesome and the view as well. The restaurant sits right on the water and I love the decor. The staff was extremely friendly and the service was great! The only negative thing that I would have to say is that the live musician (although he was super good) created a lot of noise that bled into the dining room which makes for a not so good intimate dinner.

When we arrived I notifies the host that we had requested an outside table. He informed us that they did except table request but could sit us next to the fireplace. 10 minutes later a floor manager asked us if we wouldn't mind moving for a couple that had requested the fireplace. (What happen to we don't do request?) fortunately there was a table available outside, so we obliged. If your going to inconvenience a customer (especially one with a pregnant wife) at least offer him a complimentary cocktail. (Didn't happen) The food was nothing spectacular, potato gratin was packed w bread crumbs and very dry, chicken skin looked like it was cooked in a lukewarm pan (no color or caramelization on the skin very soft and chewy) the filet was seasoned well and the sauce served with it was a nice reduction. Despite the great view from outside I would not return or recommend the restaurant.

Such a classic place. The food is great and the remodel is spectacular. It is the only good lake views at the Hyatt and the sunsets are excellent. Tip: ask to sit in Roberto's section. He is fantastic and friendly and is a big part of why we keep coming back!

Sergio the Serbian waiter is cute & attentive. Oh snap! I had the Angus burger (i have to triple check the spelling, making sure letter G is there!!!! Lol) & it's delish!!!!! I thought I won't be able to eat all of it but I realized I was knocked down by 20 mL of Kah tequila the night before so I need to replenish! The decor has old school cabin feel to it. I like! But the best feature is the lake view! We actually stepped outside & walked on the beach after the breakfast. Definitely not crowded & very clean beach! If you want a quiet, elegant & refreshing breakfast in Tahoe, try this place!

Great view, right on lake but this is what you pay for , besides good service. I had the barramundi fish dish (buttery fish from Australia) and everything that came with dish was bland. I had a taste of the Halibut which beat mine but still nothing to write home about. The only thing I found worth bragging about we're the truffle fries. Not worth the high prices. Off to dine at Wolfdales and Jack Rabbit Moon next says the foodie.

It ain't Mastro's, but it's a solid high-end steak house - and surprisingly, it's not that much more expensive (given it's hotel/resort setting). The place is absolutely beautiful. It's a large dining room in a giant lodge-style building delineated by two huge stone fire places with dark, mountain chalet style furnishings. During the day, there are gorgeous lake views, and during the evening, a nice fire pit outside. Service was consistent with service throughout the Hyatt resort property - very attentive, professional, and friendly. The food was pretty typical upscale steak house. Several different cuts a la carte with a nice selection of sides. A few matched entrees, some seafood. A variety of starters dominated by seafood, salads, and a couple soups. We had the endive/frisee salad and a very interesting take on a caesar (not sure how they got the prosciutto to be that texture (thin, crisp, crackerish w/o obvious flash-frying). Both were good. My wife had the NY strip with brandy cream, and I went old school with a filet w/ bearnaise and red wine reduction. Both cuts were cooked very precisely to med and med rare respectively. Both were seasoned perfectly. The sauces were take it or leave it. For sides, we did "creamless" creamed spinach, wild mushrooms, and gratin. The mushrooms were OK. The spinach was interesting and light (good given how rich everything else was). The potatoes (gruyere and nutmeg) were quite good. Bottom line: The steaks tastes like 50-dollar steaks should generally taste. The service and atmosphere line up as well. It doesn't totally measure up to our favorite red meat splurge, but it did not disappointment. For ~$125/person in a hotel/resort setting, it's kind of a good value (hard to even say that at that price point, but really, you don't pay too much of a resort-premium for the quality here).

The Lone Eagle Grille is lovely but oh so expensive! I suppose given that they are located in the heart of some of the highest real-estate in the country, they can get away with those prices, but they are certainly a little too rich for my blood, with entrees ranging from $30-$60. I will say, however, that the atmosphere and the drinks are fabulous here! Coming for a cocktail, a snack and a view are more within my comfort zone. During the evenings, they have a great guitarist who serenades the guests with good tunes from the 60's and 70's - nice! We indulged in a smoked salmon pizza and some truffle fries to pick on, which were both very good. Look out for the Golden Eagle (Lone Eagle's "wet woody"), as one of these bad boys will put you under the table!

We walked into the restaurant with reservations and were sat at a table immediately. I liked the overall layout and decor of the dining room, it looked exactly how I would picture a restaurant on the lake. When it came time to order, my girlfriend ordered the salmon stuffed with crab and I ordered the NY prime with peppercorn crust, with a side of squash and zucchini. We both thought the food was excellent and cooked the steak exactly how I asked. The only problem I had, was that a waiter kept walking by with BO, I was going to leave a stick of Degree as a tip but my gf said money was more appropriate. Overall, the food and wine were great!

We spent the afternoon on the boat and decided to stop by the Lone Eagle for lunch. We valet the boat and were seated immediately. The staff was great Our server and busser was terrific. They were very helpful and friendly. We ordered the bison burger and fries. Very mediocre for $21.00. No flavor. We also ordered the chicken sandwich with aioli pesto and salad. Just pesto and very oily. The side salad was excellent. Not worth $19.00. The bread and butter was good and a nice start but ended up fair. The location and staff are amazing. The food needs help!

We dined with you on Saturday evening of last week. To start, we had the meatballs. The taste was good, however the temperature was around lukewarm. My husband ordered the ribeye. He was unsatisfied with the flavor, felt that it was lacking any real flavor. It was over cooked. He ordered it at medium and it was medium well. I ordered the short ribs. They were described to me as fall apart tenderness. When using my husbands steak knife, I could not even get them apart they were so tough. When we were able to get the meat off, it was incredibly chewy. We had the macaroni and cheese, which was good and actually pretty hot. We also ordered the scalloped potatoes which had a film of butter sitting on the top, which was less than appetizing. Your restaurant came highly recommended from friends of ours that have visited and that also live in Reno, however I would be less than enthusiastic to recommend to anyone else. We had looked forward to this dinner and had it scheduled as our date night. We were both left frustrated and hungry. To make this matter worse, I received a survey from the hotel, followed by an email from the assistant manager of the restaurant. After giving my review, their response was that they appreciate the feedback and will work on it. We literally have friends going this weekend to Tahoe, and we told them to avoid this place at all costs. Did not even offer to help us next time or anything.

Yes, it's really expensive. But you're in a major holiday destination at high season, what do you expect? I'll tell you what I expect. For $50, I expect my steak to be of the highest quality and cooked to perfection. The peppercorn-crusted Brandt Beef Prime New York in brandy cream was just that. Wakako's Durham Ranch bison tenderloin in blue cheese fondue ($57) was the best damn buffalo I've ever had the pleasure of eating. We also enjoyed the Winnemucca potato gratin and creamed spinach, and the baby iceberg wedge was very good too despite not using the freshest lettuce. If this place wasn't so damned expensive, it would be an easy 5-star review. We will definitely return here when we're back in Tahoe.

  • Jason M.

Real real expensive! Way over priced, about double what it is worth. $35 wine corkage fee is highway robbery, come on? $11 for a tiny wedge salad? $24 for two tiny crab cakes with fries? Food was okay, nothing spectacular. Went for Father's Day brunch, service was awful. They don't refill glasses or Ice Tea, you have to beg. They leave the back door open and freeze the customers. For this style of restaurant, the service should have been white glove perfect! but it was nothing close to it. Granted it is a nice setting, but surely of all of Lake Tahoe, there are much more reasonable friendlier places to go.

I eat out a lot and very rarely complain, I have never sent food back, that being said, Lone Eagle grill is plain bad when it comes to food. I am not sure what everyone is raving about. The restaurant has a beautiful ambience and great view that's why I gave it a 2 star. The food though was horrible!! We ordered soups first my butternut squash soup was way too creamy and at the same time lacked sweetness. Wedge salad was just mediocre, and my hubby's chicken was plain bad. He just eats chicken or fish so we know chicken pretty well, gosh the chicken looked sloppy and the presentation was kinda sad :( taste was watery and bland. I don't know if it was that one night or what but obviously I wouldn't know as I am not going back!!!

This place was amazing!!! The service, the food, the wine and especially the view!!! So beautiful!! What was especially wonderful was that my boyfriend had proposed to me by surprise earlier in the day and we went there to celebrate with friends. My friend mentioned that we had just gotten engaged and later after dinner without us knowing, while we were sitting out by the fire, the waiter had the band play Train's "Marry Me" and they brought out cake for us. It was so wonderful and nice of them. Literally made me cry. Everyone should experience this place while in Tahoe. Completely worth it!! Thank you Lone Eagle!! You made my day that much better!!

Great food. We used to get complimentary bread the last three times we ate here. However, they are renovating the kitchen and did not serve us bread this time. The restaurant is across the street from the Hyatt and is next to Lake Tahoe. Great atmosphere. We love salmon!

This was one of the highlights of our honeymoon. It's situated right on Lake Tahoe with beautiful views, and watching the sunset while sipping excellent wine really made it feel like vacation. While meat is definitely their specialty, they have a vegetarian menu and are happy to accommodate a vegan. Our hostess was even vegan, and made me feel so welcomed! We started with a salad that was fresh and lovely, but then I had a grilled cauliflower steak that was to die for. it was full of flavor and had amazing texture. It was adorned with stewed Appaloosa beans, caramelized pearl onions, and topped with a red wine reduction. I thought I had died and gone to vegan heaven. While this was our most expensive meal of the trip, it was worth every penny. Not only did they accommodate me, they gave me a meal so satisfying that I couldn't even finish my plate. I had to be rolled home. If you're staying at the Hyatt or are in the neighborhood and want to celebrate a special occasion, you must come here.

My husband and I had a really great lunch here on Saturday afternoon which consisted of the wine braised lamb meatballs and delicious bison burgers with fries. The cocktails and wine were also great! So much so that we decided to come back Saturday night for a late dinner (well not that late...9:15). I was reluctant because of one thing from our lunch that is normally a sign of what's to come and that was the french fries! I was a bit surprised to have what were obviously frozen french fries, described on the menu as herbed fries alongside an $18 burger. First of all even with a reservation, our hostess tried to seat us at a table off the back bar that we happened to sit at during lunch which is located directly across from an exit door that goes out to the lake. Everytime the door is opened you get blown away, literally! And even though it was June 14, the temperature was in the 40's. There were many empty tables including a table for two in front of the beautiful fireplace. We chose that one. Our hostess seemed stunned that we were refusing the sad, dark, cold table... I could go on and on but I will break it down into the good, the bad, and the ugly. Good: The restaurant is gorgeous, warm and inviting, as long as you're not sitting by the exit. The views of the lake during the daytime are stunning. Our waitress Agnes was delightful and extremely professional. The cocktails were very good and they have a great wine list. Bad: The food. Everything we ordered for dinner was awful except for the salad with strawberries, cheese and a port reduction. The scallops were over cooked and dry, the gruyere mac and cheese was not seasoned and the poor quality of the noodles stood in the way of one of my favorite cheeses. The elk and the bison tasted exactly the same! You really felt as though you were having a very tough piece of sirloin of beef. The dessert, their famous one was extremely disappointing as it was so frozen that even next to the fireplace we couldn't get past the meringue. Ugly: Black Truffle Oil fries. Believe it or not, they wasted truffle oil on those same miserable frozen fries that we had at lunch...why? The Lone Eagle is not inexpensive, just look at the menu. The worst part was that we had to endure the restaurant again the following night with a group of 10 that we were traveling with. I wish I could say that the short rib entree or the mussels proved to be any better than the previous nights pick but they were not. In a nutshell, whoever is putting the menu together understands what good ingredients are and what savvy consumers are drawn by, but the chef doesn't seem to care about the quality of the product, whether it be macaroni, frozen potatoes, or below prime cuts of meat that he actually serves.

I get that the restaurant is a restaurant hotel. Prices will be higher, etc.Nice interiors and views - that's all the restaurant has it going for them. Food wise it was a meh experience. I just don't think the food was extraordinary. For $50 I expect my lamb chops to be cooked to perfection - they weren't. The tomato salad to be fresh- it wasn't. The cheesecake dessert was dry and crumbly in texture. Service- oh dear. The problem is that seasonal workers are hired to work and they seem to exhibit a lack of training on basic skills; not the workers fault but of management and the hotel really. One busboy gruffly lays the flatware in a brusque manner. I arrived 5 minutes early for my reservations and the hostess said they were only seating at exact time reservations. 5 minutes past and you would think she would come get me as I'm right across from her- but no. 10 minutes past and I go up and she's like oh what's your name again?

Yes, you read it right, I ate here twice in one day. Okay, twice in one afternoon but really, it was hours apart and the first time was practically early enough to be a really late breakfast at a lake-view table with my hubby and the second was practically late enough to be an early dinner at a lake-view barstool with my sis so they were (almost) entirely different experiences but for the fact that both times I was me and both times I ate there. Anyway, as a result I have a pretty good handle on the current state of the LEG and feel competent to write on the topic should you choose to read on. My first seating, as I said, was at a table. We had a wait "team" and I am sorry to say I did not catch or at any rate did not retain, their names. However, I did retain the info that the young sort of Dr McDreamy look alike man took pains to bring a beer sample to me and that he and his companera took very good care of us. I loved the green lentil soup with a poached egg and sour cream garnish. We both loved the beef carpaccio also. In fact I loved it a little too much so I filled up and could not finish my steak which was a beautiful piece of meat perfectly cooked pink although I found the bordelaise a little toooo salty and smoky. The fries were really crispy and delicious. My second seating I sat, as I said, at the bar with my sister. It was my intention to watch her eat while I joined her in a drink. However, when we looked at the bar menu and I saw the house made linguini with artichokes that I had had to eliminate from the earlier lineup as well as the beet salad and the charcuterie plate, also would have beens asking for a second chance, I gave in to my own self and ordered them up. We both agreed they were each delicious. The pasta was tangy and rich, the mufaletta slightly spicy and the beets firm and cool with a smooth dressing. Kyle at the bar took good care of us, (a few of the other bar staff were less warm so we tried to stick with him throughout to the extent we could). By the time we left it was getting dinner crowded so we exited stage left lakeside. I had bookend walks on the beach after each meal which helped stave off that overdone feeling. The weather was deep fall crisp. Perfect with the gorgeous snowcapped mountain ringed lake and pines as a backdrop!

Do true Tahoe locals go here (as opposed to the Hotel clientele?) You tell me? Depending upon the time of year - you can certainly boat in or drive-in. This property offers valet by water or to your car which is rare but very well staffed (thank you, guys). The opportunity to be lake-side (by boat) and enjoy the pier-head bar and lounge area is unrivaled - its obvious on any blissful, Tahoe boating day. If dining is your pleasure (as opposed to strickly liquids) - the indoor/outdoor offerings of Lone Eagle Restaurant (just up from the pier) are, well, so-so. Are we there for the view, the camaraderie or the view? Can you have all 3? Um, you be the judge. I have yet to think so. Staffing is so-so; menu options are good and varietal but the tariff is more than your taste-buds expectations. Frankly, anything lake-side at Tahoe is skyward. But, friends and ambiance usually come first unless you are entertaining in your own home. How do you really want to satiate? Yes, a complete Tahoe experience might just include this dining diva....be sure to bring your camera and your AMEX card.

I am loathed to give these two stars. We decided to end our vacation with a nice dining experience this evening. I guess we should have gone somewhere else. The only thing making it worthy of a second star is for the beautiful setting. Firstly, Greg and Amanda if you are both going to be our servers then how about you check in on us once in a while. We saw you standing against the wall chatting inside...in the words of the guy in Hurtlocker " this ain't no freaking meet n greet." I ordered off the Veg menu and my hubby got the special. Our 11 year old ordered the steak off the kids menu. My first course was palatable and I did enjoy it. The main course however was bizarre. I will premise it by saying that I asked them to leave the tomatoes off the Polenta. She offered a substitute and I said if they had some mushrooms it would be good. It arrived and there was this 6oz clump of some kind of cheese .....some kind of marscapone or something. I think there was more cheese than polenta on the plate. The polenta was lumpy. The tomato jam and onions were missing. The mushrooms BIG mistake...slimy peculiar tasting chantrelles. The kid steak was bland and unseasoned. Not once did chatty Kathy and her sidekick ever bother to come over and ask how we were doing. I left most of my dinner. They did not ask if I had an issue or even offer to box it. Now for dessert. I had the special that included a shortbread cookie dipped in choc with dulce de leche ice-cream. The ice cream tasted like vanilla. It was sitting on top of the supposed cookie and covered in Strawberry sauce so once you were left with the cookie you were now left with the puzzling dilemma of how to eat the hockey puck of a cookie that was now drenched in ice cream and strawberry sauce. You could not pick it up and it was so rock hard and thick you could not break it with a fork. The coffee...undrinkable and Einstein comes to the table and asks if I would like some more. All in all a extremely disappointing evening except for the stunning view. $185 for three people and that was with a vegetarian and kids menu and no alcohol.

I have been here twice before and the view tends to compensate for the "trying hard to be gourmet" mediocre food. I liked the place! Gave it a few chances. Today the poor service put me over the top and I, and my group, literally walked out after exceptionally poor service and a rude general manager. Given a rude ultimatum at check in was just the beginning. Being sat next to the kitchen in the hot an noisy seats since I commented on being treated poorly was the next issue. Then a patronizing "not my problem" explanation was the end all. Walking out was a first time experience for me. What a train wreck. The bar staff failed as well. The humanity...

ALERT: TOURIST TRAP RIPOFF! Our experience started well on a Sunday evening in late August. We were seated immediately at a nice table for six with a lake view. The wait staff and wine steward were attentive and hot rolls and our first bottle of wine arrived quickly. Our first course followed--salads and soups--all of which were average to good. We admired the sun setting as our entrees arrived, but the mood quickly changed. I wish I could say our main courses were marginal but that would be an overstatement. Think hospital food or a banquet for 400 at a nasty Hilton. It's almost criminal that the Lone Eagle Grille has the setting and location that they do and they're getting away with such terrible cuisine. We had: Mixed Baby Greens, Beets, Cherry Tomatoes, Focaccia Croutons, Balsamic Vinaigrette $10 (Ordered two. To be fair, these were good, but not memorable) Sweet Corn Chowder $12 (Very average) Sauteed Chicken with Mascarpone Polenta $32 (Absolutely the worst dish at our table, bland, rubbery and tasteless) Herb Crusted Halibut, Fresh Beans, Tomatoes and New Potatoes in Lemon Vinaigrette $36 (We had the misfortune of ordering two of these as well. Soggy panko crust outside, overcooked and dry inside. The vegetables were limp and flavorless. I've had Mrs. Paul's fish sticks that have tasted better.) Cavatelli, Ragout of Wild Mushrooms, Lobster, Vermouth, Thyme $27 (pasta was warm, lobster and other ingredients were lukewarm without any flavor integration -- and seemed as though someone poured some pretty but cold mushrooms on top) Grilled Prime New York Steak, Lobster Mashed Potatoes, Green Peppercorn Demi-Glace $43 (Ordered "rare" came Med Well, sent it back for a new rare steak and finally canceled the order after waiting another 15 min.) Kids NY steak $17. (Asked for medium well, received extra well done. Nevertheless, my son liked it--but then again he is only thirteen) Kids Medallion of beef $19 (My daughter said she thought it was good) I think our waitress noticed that most of us had taken just a couple of bites of our meal and then just set them aside. The manager came over to check on us and we politely let him know how disappointed we were. He apologized and they did end up not charging us for the botched NY steak and two Halibuts. Total bill including tip after comp'd meals $450. That did include two bottles of EDUCATED GUESS, Cabernet Sauvignon Napa Valley, 2006 (very good BTW) at $55/ea. Bottom line: great location, setting, atmosphere, etc. Incredibly underwhelming, very pricey food. Note: many of the favorable reviews out there start with the location, view, sunset, ambiance etc. not how great the food is. In the end isn't that why we go to restaurants?

Nice outdoor seating by private beach. However, it is over price for the quality of the food they serve. The shrimp linguini pasta is their best dish. It is $40 and it tastes about something you could get at Pasta Pomodoro. The prime rib is $36 and it comes soaked with a not so good sauce. The portabella mushroom appetizer comes with a fruity sauce that doesn't complement the dish. Go here only for the atmosphere

I would give one star except the manager was very kind. Let me start by saying - my family and I have been coming here for years. It is our favorite spot that we enjoy for a great dinner and different special occasions. This trip was however a complete let down. I am sad because every meal in the past has been amazing. The place is always busy and people need to understand you can't always get the nice view - we understand that this review is only directed at the food. We started with the Burrata cheese with Roasted red peppers and heirloom tomatoes. It tasted like they wanted to save money and just filled it with peppers. We couldn't even find the tomatoes. Next we ordered the corn chowder and peach salad. The salad was a let down - basic lettuce with peach dressing poured over it....the chowder was just ok. For dinner we ordered the Salmon and Ahi. They were both terrible. The salmon was cooked perfectly however the sauce on top was horrible - so bad we didnt want to eat it. The Ahi looked like it was bought at the local discount supermarket / was over cooked and had no flavor. The side with potatoes was left on the stove for hours and the olives really over powered it. It also came with a pickled balsamic egg. It just tasted like balsamic.....no big deal but why do they waste their time with that??!?! Just give me a nice piece of Ahi....that's all I ask.... We said something because we do love this place and want them to improve. The service was great, everyone was kind, the manager was very nice, the food was horrible. I think it comes down to the kitchen and hope they stop trying to be so fancy with special sauces on salmon and picked eggs. Just serve me a good meal!

Can I give this place 7 stars? We stayed at the Hyatt for our honeymoon and ate at this place the 2nd night of our trip. I can say hands down the New York Steak was THE best steak I've ever eaten in my life. DAMN that thing was like a piece of cow rolled in 700% flavor. The staff was super friendly, treated us like gold and knew a lot about wines. Exceptional service, really cozy decor, every bit of the experience was worth the price.

Food- Low average AT BEST. One of the most OVER PRICED places I have ever been. Menu comes off soooo pretentious and then what you get is ridic! We left with such a bad taste in our mouth, when you get ripped off, it's a yucky feeling. View- What you pay for! Gorgeous atmosphere decor and outdoor views. Very shi shi, it is a BUMMER that the food doesn't support place, if it did it would be out of this world!!! Kinda reminds me of a grand Adirondack camp/lodge from the turn of the century, could be super romantic with good food. A shame...

This place was in a great location, and the service was great, but for how expensive it was I wasn't that impressed with the food. For an appetizer we had Seared Ahi Tuna and Crispy Shrimp Dumpling. The tuna was good, but the dumpling was great; highlight of the meal. My entree was the new york steak, which was probably the most fatty new york strip I've ever had. Not impressed. My girlfriend had the beef tenderloin, which was a better cut of meat than mine. On the plus side, there was a great view of the lake and they have a floating pier outside.

My buddies and I had dinner here over the weekend. I was surprised that we had different people waiting on us. One for water and drinks, one for bread, and another one for our entrees. I'm not sure if it was due to it being slow because it was a Tuesday night. Either way, I have to say that the service was great. Now for the food... The bread was fresh and tasty. For my entree, I ordered the Prime Rib and I was VERY glad I did. The seasoning was perfect and the sides went well with the Prime Rib. I topped it off with a glass of Stella; That's my idea of dessert. In my opinion, it was a perfect meal! The prices are steep but hey, you gotta treat yourself every so often! Next time I'm in the Incline Village area of Lake Tahoe, I'll be dropping by for another bite.

I'll give this three and a half stars and round up for Yelp. There's some room for improvement here, especially given the price. But considering the competition in town --there is none unless you drive 15 miles west to Christy Hill in Tahoe City-- it's the best fine dining on the north side of the Lake. It's a steakhouse, with steak and chops from several kinds of critters. They do this very well. Anything else on the menu is fifty-fifty, hit or miss. And when the prices are this high, there shouldn't be any misses. On the upside, it has a fantastic view and superb cocktails and coffee. My wife and I have learned that, unless you are bringing someone here to celebrate a special occasion, the best bet is to have an early dinner in the lounge. The lounge menu is more appetizer and burger oriented, and since this menu never changes, it's more consistently good. (You can order off the main menu and pay those prices if you like.) The view is better from this room, too. On Thu-Sat nites, entertainment is provided by a folk singer/guitarist with electronic accompaniment and his own menu of songs. Whether this is entertaining or not is highly subjective, but the main clientele here are tourists with deep pockets, so I can see the appeal to that crowd. If you don't like James Taylor wannabe's, then don't come here on Luke nights. He *will* sing the obligatory 'Fire and Rain,' guaranteed. My five year old loves him, though. I'd like to see what the very negative reviewers give high ratings to. I suspect that either they have had an atypical experience, or their expectations are way too high, or perhaps they're locals who are weary of touristy scenes. And some people are simply not prepared to pay $200 for dinner for two. Ever. It's hard to pick one place to call the best part of the wonderful Hyatt Regency Lake Tahoe resort, but the Lone Eagle certainly competes.

The lodge like feeling makes it very cozy with the fireplace and amazing view of the lake. The bar tenders can make a good drink and do a nice job of quickly serving the waiting customers. The food is really really good. B/c it is winter and the lodge like feeling we opted for a rustic gamey menu. Menu: Seared Duck Breast - AMAZING Cease Salad - Very good Buffalo Tenderloin - signature dish and a must! Beef Tenderloin - Amazing Over all the it was an experience and a wonderful and romantic evening. The service was top notch.

it blows my mind that this great place only has 3.5 stars at the moment, because i just had one of the best dinners here! we came to lone eagle as it was highly recommended by our hotel staff and boy, we were super happy (versus our original plan of Conrad at Crystal bay casino). it was the best tender lamb and succulent steak, i've had in a while! our bill came out to be $142 (excluding tax & tip) and this is what we ordered: - panko crusted portbello mushroom (in tomato & basil sauce)- very good! - braised lamb (so tender, it slid off the bone, sooo delicious) - new york steak (medium rare- f'n delicious, tender, perfectly cooked and came with really good mashed potatoes) - 2 glasses of cab (we really liked 'educated guess' and something 'ridge'-forgot the name - creme brulee martini (which didn't taste like creme brulee, more like irish car bomb) the truffle oil butter is fantastic and comes with the bread! nice ambience. they sat us next to the big fireplace, which really set the romantic mood since we were celebrating our anniversary. and the patio leads to the beach. LOVED THIS PLACE! it's pricey, but perfect for special occasions!

First and foremost - the Lone Eagle Grille is in a hotel (granted, a very upscale hotel) and they go through Chefs on a regular basis. The place is set up lodge style, so it's moderately noisy and for those who want moderate price, well this is Lake Tahoe dining on the Lake... so good luck. BUT! This place cannot be beat for Brunch or special occasion Buffets, period. I have foodie parents, so I've been drug around to most of the high end restaurants that exist in California and Nevada (including the four seasons Biltmore in Santa Barbara, the Yacht Club in San Francisco, and Lone Eagle Grille's direct competitors, Sunnyside in Tahoe City, and Garwoods in Carnelian Bay.) None of the places can beat Lone Eagle Grille when it comes to champagne brunches and special occasions. My family has gone to the Mother's Day brunch, Father's Day brunch, Thanksgiving dinner, and Easter brunch, and every single time it has been amazing. Some upscale places get too carried away and create menus with unpronounceable cuisine or too wide of a variety (which can make the overall quality suffer). Lone Eagle Grill has a big selection but it's generally pretty traditional, upscale, high quality of ingredients, and very delicious! I have a hard time picking out what I want to eat, because it's all too good! Unlimited King Crab Legs, Huge shrimp, free flowing champagne, fantastic prime rib, perfect eggs benedict, chocolate covered strawberries, amazing cheese cake, great pancakes, great ham, salads, and the list goes on and on. Brunch here is simply divine. I have also had dinner at Lone Eagle Grille, and it was good, but like many others have said, it's overpriced for what it is. I have had better food at other locations, and they can have off nights sometimes. It is my recommendation that you try a special occasion Brunch, because you will not be disappointed! They are truly superior, and I'm sure Christmas brunch this year will be just as good!

I have read some of the earlier reviews about poor staff/service and the 6 plus times we have dined here over the years, we have never had a negative experience and this most recent time was no different. From the gazpacho with crab, ahi appetizer, wedge salad, buffalo loin were all excellent! This place is not cheap but the food, staff and stunning location make this a special place to dine.

I had my first meal at the Lone Eagle in late May, so it was not crowded. The atmosphere indoors was comfortable and the view was of course, sensational. We were seated outdoors on the patio with a perfect view of the lakeside seating area and cabannas lined up along the shoreline. We were there for lunch and we both ordered the grilled salmon which was superb. The Lone Eagle IS a tourist establishment...and it is staffed by locals, many who are college kids or maybe even younger. They are very friendly, and accommodating, but if you are looking for top knotch big city five star black tie service, then you may be disappointed. But if you want a nice meal and a comfortable, clean and RalphLaurenesk setting, then this is a great place to go.

The pros are the amazing view and efficient service. The NY strip was decent, but not sure if it was 45 dollars decent. There were a lot of rave reviews in yelp about the seared ahi, but frankly it just wasn't that good. Would have loved to try their signature buffalo tenderloin, but for some unknown reason they weren't serving it. Basically this place isn't bad for a comped meal, but I definitely wouldn't spend my own money eating here.

For me, the Lone Eagle Grille has always been a five star spot. The building, the beach and the views are some of the best you can find around Lake Tahoe. It is upscale. The prices reflect that too. This is the high-rent district after all. You are surrounded by multi-million dollar homes and private beaches. Each time we come here we enjoy ourselves and the view immensely. Today was no exception. My husband ordered a bloody Mary since he noticed someone else enjoying one and it looked good. Luckily he likes them spicy since it was very spicy. He blurted out a big "whew" when he took his first sip. He said he liked it though. Next we had the saffron clam chowder and some really good bread ... they even served a pretzel bread that was very tasty. The clam chowder was very good too. My daughter ate her entire bowl. That made me happy. No waste. Normally we would not order French fries, but they had truffle fries and pesto aioli ... and they were good. Really good. Perfect. I did my best to only eat a few and I enjoyed every bite. Our server Danielle was on top of everything. She took great care of my daughter. I was pleased. I would recommend going to the Lone Eagle Grille anytime for drinks and the view and for Sunday Brunch. They serve the best Sunday Brunch ... with endless Champagne. Have a designated driver if you are to partake. Just don't drink and drive cause the cops are eager to pull you over around here. I saw about a dozen people get pulled over during our weekend visit.

Had the dungeness crab cakes as a first course and stuck with that because I unfortunately ate a panini right before (because we went swimming and i was already starving, silly I know). Had the creme brûlée and mud pie as desserts and left stuffed. In between courses, you can go out to the patio and enjoy your cigar (which are available for purchase) right by the snowy lake and the floating dock. Step onto that floating dock at your own risk. Definitely will return.

On star for the location. The restaurants sits next to the lake and has great big windows that allows for some amazing views. Zero stars for the food and the service. I ordered the buffalo burger. I've had it before at another restaurant and really enjoyed it, granted the other restaurant was called the buffalo burger inn (so they might know a little more about a buffalo burger). I ordered it medium and when it showed up the bun was soaked with blood and grease from the meat to the point where i couldn't even pick it up to take a bite out of it. the meat tasted old, so much so that the friend i came with had to spit it out after trying just one little bite. All this for a $20 burger?! the service was not any better. The waiter was young, immature and awkward. It added to the awful taste in my mouth from the disgusting burger. No way am i coming back here. (well maybe for drinks and the view)

Beautiful atmosphere and views, located right on the lake. The food is over-priced, like everything in Incline, and runs hot and cold. Overall, it's one of the nicest places to dine in Incline.

Make reservations and reserve a table overlooking the lake. If you are going in the winter, make sure you go earlier so you can enjoy the beautiful view. My wife and I went to this place three times and NEVER SAW THE LAKE. How shameful. The food is upscale and if you have expensive tastes you will be rewarded. My wife and I doubled-up on the buffalo mignon for this trip. I say mignon (even though that wasn't what it was called) because it was comparable to the beef filet mignon cut in flavor and texture. It was served with asparagus and a cheesy-flavored rice. All was excellent: tasty and well prepared. I had a first course of french onion soup. The broth was stout and flavorful with clear sweet onions in every spoonful. The cheese was melty and had enough consistency to cut with the spoon. Lone Eagle Grille boasts a sommelier on staff and they never fail to disappoint (if you know what you like in wines). If you are a brute or neophyte when it comes to grapes, then skip the help. For this trip we had a party of six, so picking a wine was a tough task--but not so with an expert on hand. She recommended a cab/merlot/syrah blend that was awesome! (and to my dismay I neglected to get the name!) The ambiance is upscale, with a very nice bar for before or after dinner and if the weather is good, plenty of outdoors seating and fire pits for enjoy the beautiful view of the lake. If you are staying at the Hyatt Regency in Incline Village, you can charge this place to your room as it is technically part of the resort. I highly recommend of you are in the North Tahoe area to enjoy this wonderful restaurant.

We were here over the memorial day Weekend, they were very busy as the weather sucked. The ambience is nice, the prices are high, the cocktails and service were good. We had some calamari - I tought it was good, my husband thought it was average.... i am sure when the sun is shining this place would be outstanding, as they have fire pits outside with lots of chairs around them and cabanas on the beach. In the rain, not so much...

What happened here?? It went from a beautiful lakeside drinking and dining establishment to DENNY'S! The beautiful interior has been transformed into mountains of formica tables and chairs. Garage sale quality artwork has been hung, where previously there had been beautiful bookcases. The servers seem to have developed bad attitudes with the bad decor. They seem to take the brunt of the criticism, which we heard quite a bit on our recent visit. Many other fine dining establishments to chose from.

Wow. I really don't get the bad reviews on this place. We hung out for about an hour behind the restaurant at the fire pit waiting for our table. We had a few drinks and listened to their live music. The view is absolutely stunning. When it was time for us to be seated, we asked for a table near the fireplace and that was accommodated. Our waiter, Roberto, was totally cool and friendly. I ordered the mixed green salad with beets (very good) and the cavelli with humboldt fog cheese. Super good. Husband had the french onion soup, which he said was just "ok", and seared tuna for his entree, which he loved. He had the panna cotta for dessert and he could not stop raving. The next morning we went for brunch. It was $40/person but utterly delicious. They had a huge range of food to choose from and free flowing champagne. Way worth it.

My opinion will not falter after reading the other reviews. My long weekend break from San Diego came to a close at the Lone Eagle Grille. My hosts had left me at the Hyatt to get the shuttle to the airport. I had about 8 hours from the time they left me to the time I had to catch my flight. Ample time. A host at the Hyatt recommended I take that time and spend it at Lone Eagle. So I cross the street and head to the water. Lake Tahoe is such a stunning shade of blue---it is like gallons and gallons of food coloring washed off the mountains and ended up in its basin----only the coloring is natural so it is even more remarkable. This is uncontrivable beauty. Words cannot describe. I arrive slightly jaded due to the circumstances of my long weekend. I was rather emotionally drained and was seeking solace. Down the steps and out into the lounge, I hunkered down right next to the windows. I watched the water, read. I ordered a glass of wine and a bowl of french onion. It was a very peaceful experience. I didn't feel self conscious for being there alone for quite some time---sunning myself at the table. I was left to sip my wine and slurp my soup in peace. It felt quite nice.

Great place to watch a sunset. I have been coming up here quite a bit over the summer and fall, both with and without my son. In the summer the deck is great, in the winter its cold, obviously. Great place to watch a sunset and have a great meal. Its a little on the pricey side but the ambiance makes up for it. Worth a visit and just a short trip up from reno. B

We took our boat over last fall, went to the Lone Eagle for appetizers in the late afternoon. A storm was headed in and the staff at the Hyatt were AWESOME in assisting us! We had a Real Estate Symposium at the Hyatt in Incline a few mos. prior and what an awesome property. They roll out the red carpet for you. A fantastic experience!

$35 per bottle (max 2!) corkage fee is over the top. Service was adequate, but why work hard when you get an 18% automatic tip on a table of 6? Noisey, nice views, of course, right on the Lake. Attitude is like, "we have it made, it's a privilege for you to eat here." Comparable attitude to Beach House Grill in Poipu, Kauai. Suggestions: drop or reduce the ridiculous corkage fee and make tipping optional. Food was OK, good but not great. All in all, way prefer West Shore Cafe as far at Tahoe goes.

Great food, great appetizers, nice wine list and fantastic martinis. Pricey, but that comes with the territory. They also pull off a great New Year's Eve if you're ever in the neighborhood. As others have stated, location can't be beat. There are not a lot of restaurants in Incline Village that deliver consistent, upscale food with fantastic atmosphere but Lone Eagle delivers. Brunch was also a good choice, again a little pricey but with high quality choices.

Growing up a Floridian, I've naturally become a sunset connoisseur. Walking down the stairs into the cozy cabin room, I was stunned by the panoramic view of Lake Tahoe veiled in pinks and oranges. For a moment I thought I WAS home looking out at one of the amazing sunsets off of Anna Maria Island, the only difference being, the white sandy beaches were now blanketed with powdery snow. I have to say the service was very friendly by offering signature drink suggestions. I had coffee spiked with Tuaca and fresh Cinnamon. Though I am not a hopeless romantic, letting this warm my body next to the 6 ft tall fireplace was enough to put a check mark in my brain next to the "perfect romantic date" box. I can't say anything about the food because we only stayed for drinks, but wow...that view....The Lone Eagle had three stars before I was able to sit down at our table.

When I want an excellent view of the lake, a fire pit, and a drink with some close friends this is the spot in incline. The view alone will put your mind at ease. Yes its spendy, but its a lakefront Hyatt. should be expected. service is great...I Never eat here.. just cocktails and beer. World class spot for sure!

4 stars simply for the view of the sparkly blue lake on a warm and sunny Saturday afternoon and though we only had cocktails and small bites, it was a nice way to pass some time on a weekend. I had a bloody mary (served in a pint glass, on the spicier side of things) and the white corn chowder which was utterly creamy but really good...it almost put me to sleep. Even though I'm not a huge fan of calamari, the pieces were perfectly fried and crispy on the outside.

Great bar and service, but food continues to be disappointing and overpriced. I've been coming to Lone Eagle for years and have stopped eating in the restaurant and only pick up an appetizer once in a while in the bar. Last night's Venison Quesadilla was chunks of tough meat in a cheap tortilla with bad sauce. Lone Eagle needs to step up the quality of dishes and quit being complacent because of the location.

Went for dinner on 6.7.2013. Requested a seat by the window or outside. They put us next to the fire place with a view of the wall. Should have left at that point but figured we were there for the food. This place is expensive and touts itself as as first class five star restaurant. It is neither. This is a tourist trap posing as a fine dining experience. We started with the linguini and beet salad. The linguini was ok, the beet salad was nasty and not eaten. Our main dishes were salmon and buffalo tenderloin. Both came to us just barley warm, not even close to hot. The buffalo was good. The salmon was on par with red lobster. Our two side dishes were risotto and scalloped potatoes. The risotto's odd flavor was bad, it was not eaten. The scalloped potatoes were over cooked mush with so much salt it was not edible. Should have sent three of the four sides back for such poor quality. This place is very expensive for overall bad food. Go for an appetizer only and demand a good view or stay away. Very disappointed in the Lame Eagle Grill . . yuck... Time for a new chef .... Gordon Ramsey please come help this place. Check my review of Le Bistro and Yoshimi Sushi if you are in Incline Village. Also Cutthroats in the Hyatt is a good choice.

If you want to spend a lot of money and GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR, which for this price must be nothing less than a "WOW" experience, this is the place, hands down. I've been to several of the nicer restaurants in this area, including inside the casinos. This one is the best. If I could give this place more than 5 stars I would. Yes. It was that good. I don't normally give 5 stars. Ok, yes there were a couple of rookie mistakes by wait staff but it was easy to overlook due to their sincere graciousness and willing to please without being too sappy. The only one worth mentioning at all is: WATCH OUT THE PLATES ARE 2ND DEGREE BURN HOT!! They don't tell you that when they set the plates down. But there is so much good about this place that I just cannot find it in my heart to take away any stars. MUST HAVES: NEW YORK STEAK Salmon and crab appetizer NEW YORK STEAK Elk Lemon Sorbet NEW YORK STEAK Did I mention the New York Steak????????? Oh man, talk about melt in your mouth - yes a good quality steak that is prepared perfectly seems to melt in your mouth and this one does just that. Seared perfectly with mesquite seasonings that subtly give your taste buds that OOMPH that as you bite down and makes you give a little moan of pleasure. ooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh just try not to drool too much.......... I LOVED the salmon and crab appetizer, very very tasty. The elk was prepared perfectly with a very nice brothy sauce. A nice woman in the restroom was raving about the seared Ahi tuna. The lemon sorbet was perfectly lemony without being tart. And did I mention the New York Steak? By far the best at any 5 star restaurant I've ever tasted. Anywhere.

I gave the Lone Eagle only 4 stars because like the Hyatt hotel itself, it is a smidge overpriced. You do get what you pay for though. The view is as delicious as the food and the service is remarkable. The most incredible wine list I have ever seen accompanies an amazing menu of standard and seasonal offerings. It is quite amazing in the summer to sit outside with a Golden Eagle (their renowned frozen rum-runner type beverage) and watch the sun set. The patio overlooks the Hyatt Pier and Pier 999 (the bar). Also a great place to sit and enjoy an alcoholic libation and take in the most beautiful lake view anywhere.

My wife and I always hit this place up after gambling at the Hyatt across the street. The atmosphere is unbeatable, beautiful view of the lake and surrounding mountains. on a clear day, we had a beautiful view of the lake. the service is fabulous and the food was yummy! we ordered french onion soup (sooo good), spinach and scallop salad (scallops were soooo perfectly done), and a mushroom pepperoni pizza with jalapeno. we loved our meal, it was filling for two with 4 pieces of pizza as leftovers. lunch was $50. but they gave us a complimentary chocolate mousse cake for our anniversary-that topped our experience off. we want to go back for their dinner menu.

The ambiance at Lone Eagle Grille is what you would expect out of a typical country club in Tahoe; river rock and finished wood galore. I definitely felt like I was walking into a top of the line cabin on the lake. I was seated pretty quickly considering there was absolutely no seating due to a wedding party. The waitress got our drink order pretty quickly and I decided to treat myself with a cosmopolitan; my date got a glass of port. For dessert, we decided to split something and settled on the Baked Tahoe which is made with a buckwheat brownie, Tahitian vanilla ice cream, toffee and then it is 'torched' (thus the prickly pine cone look). The dessert was simply heavenly and even though I was stuffed from dinner I could not get enough of it! I don't know how they kept the ice cream from melting when they 'torched' it but this dessert was a magical mix of genius and deliciousness! I will definitely be back; maybe even for a full meal next time. If you want to see some more of my reviews check out my blog Biggest Little City Eats at: jparkhurst07.wordpress.c…

The second star is for the great ambience. The portobello appetizer was mediocre, the French Onion soup was very average, the New York steak was overcooked and dry, and the mashed potatoes were average. The service staff was friendly, but not nearly attentive enough. Overall, I'd say it's a great place to have some drinks and enjoy the atmosphere, but don't waste your time with the food.

So-so service in the lounge area (just drinks for us). It took the waitress ages to come take our order, but once she did everything was fine. It wasn't super busy when we got there. Sadly, very few tables outside on the patio, which is too bad-- the view is amazing. In the lounge area, there were people in country club casual attire (polo shirt and shorts), while others were wearing beach cover ups over their swim suits, plus you have people wandering around who are attending weddings, so it runs the whole gamut. just an fyi-- if you're not white, you'll stick out like a sore thumb, not just at this place, but in Incline Village in general. So be prepared for that. My racist conservative neighbors would fit right in here.

I had the best New Year's Day dinner here. My bf came here a few times in the past and he said his meal is usually a 3/5....we were both surprised with our most recent meal here. The crab cakes were amazing and consisted of mostly crab and not too much "cake" ...the way it should be ( yelp.com/biz_photos/cKTD… ). I don't usually order french onion soup so I don't know how to rate it but my bf liked it. The special of the day should seriously be on the regular menu. It was to die for. It was a bone-in filet, a full lobster (claws and all, shipped live from Maine), a purple potato (shipped from Peru), and broccoli romanesco. OMG it was SOOOO good! The sauce between the steak and lobster went perfectly with the dish. Here's a picture: yelp.com/biz_photos/cKTD… We were so happy with the meal. The chef even came out to introduce himself because our waiter told him how pleased we were with everything. It was just an awesome experience altogether. Nice view by the window, good bottle of pinot recommended by the sommelier, relaxing live music, and an unforgettable meal. We'll be staying at the Hyatt again next weekend so hopefully we'll be dining here again soon.

Lone Eagle is a perfect example of how experience is so closely intertwined with expectation. At a place like this, I expect to be amazed, not only by the food, but also by the staff and ambiance. I expect a meal that transcends the mundane, and provides a memorable experience. I realize this might seem like a tall order, but for a restaurant that serves entrees in the $50-$60 range and has their wine list on an iPad, I think this its a reasonable expectation- At the very least, I should leave satisfied, with a smile. Instead, I left Lone Eagle having had a memorable experience of the decidedly negative kind. When you walk in to Lone Eagle, the first thing you notice is the grandeur of the place. It feels like a lodge, probably because it is. There is a large lounge area with comfortable-looking chairs, and the dining area is partitioned into large sections with fireplaces. Facing the lake are huge windows that span the distance between floor and ceiling. It is a comfortable venue, and they certainly deserve some credit for the decor. We were greeted by the seating hostess, who asked if we wanted to have our dinner in the lounge area, despite our having made a dinner reservation for our romantic meal. "No, thank you", I said aloud, and "I do not want to pay $50 a plate to eat a meal in a bar", in my head. As soon as we were seated, the Sommelier came to our table and introduced herself. She suggested we take a minute to go through the iPad wine menu, and let her know if we had questions. She was friendly and understood her job. Our server, on the other hand, seemed to have been recruited from Burger King. He brought us bread (two pieces for two people- and they were different types. Odd, no?) without introducing himself, or telling us about the menu. Apparently, there were no seasonal or special items that night, and apparently he was in too much of a rush to tell us of the house specialties or recommendations. He came over to ask for our drink order, and when asked if he knew where the Sommelier was, he replied with, "Is there something I can't help you with?" I said I had taken a few minutes to look over the wine list and would like a recommendation about which wines would pair well with the ribeye. Instead of getting the Sommelier, he suggested a wine, and I foolishly accepted his recommendation. A few more minutes passed, and while I was in the middle of a conversation with my fiance, I sensed a "whooshing" sensation as someone seemed to race by my table. It turned out that the waiter had come by with my $16 glass of wine and poured it in what seemed to be a race. Rather than allowing me to smell or taste the wine, he simply sloshed out a miserly portion of the cabernet in such a way that he splashed several drops on the table. I won't say that I was appalled, because I don't want you to think I'm some pretentious wine-snob making mountains out of molehills, but it was extremely dissatisfying receiving so little wine for $16, and feeling like I was in a cafeteria line doing so. To make matters worse, when the Sommelier did finally walk past our table again, she was friendly and we had a nice conversation about the qualities of the different wines. She not only made several recommendations based on MY preferences, she brought a tasting of several of the wines to let me taste the differences. It was educational, and left me wishing I had ordered a different wine to accompany the ribeye. A few more minutes pass, and the 'medium' ribeye arrives. It looks intriguing, with some slightly charred bits and a sauce of some kind. Atop the steak was a whole head of soft butter-poached garlic. When I asked the server what he recommended doing with the garlic, he told me I could eat it, possibly on my steak, "or on bread or something like that". I cut into my steak, and was dismayed to find that it was NOT expertly cooked, but was instead burnt to a crisp on the outside, and somewhere near rare on the inside. I had one bite that was light pink and it was good, but certainly not worth $55. The rest of the evening was as bad- Our server came to the table sporadically, always seeming like he had something better to do, despite the restaurant being nearly empty. When I asked if the espresso was good at the restaurant, he replied with, "I dunno what you mean", and gave me a glare. The potatoes were good, nothing to rave about. The pumpkin cheesecake was well-baked, but lacked an appropriate amount of crust, so it felt like eating a block of cream cheese covered in sugar. We ultimately left the restaurant without anyone saying goodbye or thank you. I would strong recommend against eating here- there are many better restaurants out there. Others have suggested that race may have something to do with it, and as the only non-white person in the restaurant that night, it seems possible, because I honestly can't see how the server received or kept his job by treating all customers the way he treated us

I've been back twice since my last review, once as a birthday treat by out of town friends, and most recently last night, when business colleagues from Peru were visiting and we wanted to treat them to a lovely night out. Five of us were at the table, and from the minute we sat down, we were treated like royalty. The service is always superb here, with a waitress and a busboy who attended to all our needs - more bread, more butter, more water, more drinks (we were a pretty needy group, come to think of it). Three of us ordered the wild salmon ($36), which was perfectly cooked. I recommended that one of the gentlemen from Peru try the buffalo, since he had never had it before, and he swore it was the best piece of meat he'd ever tasted in his life. Now this is a very classy, well-traveled CEO, so for him to rave about it was a big thumbs up. The bill, for five entrees, a bottle of red wine, 1 soda and a couple of espressos, was over $300 including tip. *The funniest moment of the night was when we were bragging about how rarely it rains in Tahoe - when all of a sudden, my co-worker looked out at the lake and yelped, 'Is that RAIN?!!!!" Indeed it was. A surprise rain storm out of nowhere! Even better, a beautiful sunset to end the longest day of the year! TIP: Make a reservation in advance and request a table by the windows for the best views.

I've been coming here for a few years now but I'm telling you... it isn't easy. Unless you are a hotel guest (or Incline Village local) this place gives off "go away". You know what... ignore it. One of the nicest on the water locations you can find without springing 15 mil for your own lakeside estate. The floating bar at the end of the pier is a blast. You feel like you are sitting out on the water having a cocktail. Not a bad way to spend an afternoon (and/or early evening) if you can. On this latest visit I finally decided to indulge myself for lunch. A bit pricy but the food and outstanding wine list more than made up for it. The service staff are very attentive and quick to offer a suggestion if you ask. A must on any north shore itinerary.

This review is only for the bar area. Good selection of wine and beers, but the appetizers leave something to be desired. They need more shared plates on the menu as many items are not made to be split. Views are good if you can get near the window and the staff is usually pretty solid.

We were in tahoe for a long weekend away, and happened into the lounge/bar here, after a nice day of hiking and hanging out. The guitar player that was singing and walking around was FANTASTIC! We made a few requests and he played/sang them beautifully. The view is phenomenal and at night the fire pit draws a small crowd on the deck. We had small appys and fancy fancy drinks. We would definitely go back.

Great apps at the bar. The mussels were awesome, and the broth was so rich and flavorful with a hint of heat.

This overpriced hotel bar becomes insufferable when a wandering minstel annoys all patrons nightly at 6pm with his relentless guitar strumming.

I've been here 3 times now and the only thing I'm impressed by is the view of Lake Tahoe. Thumbs down to drinks, beer selection on tap, and sadly food. You'd think for a Hyatt in Tahoe they could do better. The two stars is merely for the view. First time here, my husband and I were accompanied by a large group that was taking a guest speaker from UNR. The idea was to give him a good view and great food since we had little time to show off Tahoe. When we got there, I was excited and thoroughly impressed with our seating and view. My husband and I decided to try their Buffalo burger, which the waitress claimed was the most popular menu items. (Probably, because it was $15 vs. $25 and up, and this is lunch time). Once I got the burger, I was excited because it looked great, but once I bit into it I quickly was disappointed. Very, very dry and bland. I like my meat to be med-rare (which is what we ordered) and it tasted like cardboard. I turned to my husband, who just in expression was telling me he felt the same. Hard part, if my husband and I were by ourselves or were paying for the meal I would have had no problem sending it back. Neither one of us wanted to make a big deal about it at the expense of our conversation turning out to be about the food and not our guest speakers visit. Second time, we came back with my parents and thought it wouldn't be bad to bring them here for a expensive drink for the view. It was December, so there are not a lot of other options. My mom ordered a hot buttered rum, which came out warm, not hot. My dad ordered a Irish whiskey, that was basically hot water and whiskey with no elements of lemon or clove or anything that could make it inspiring. This is sad considering, this is a hoity toity place. You'd think they'd have good drinks. My husband decided to go for the tap beer, which they only have two kinds. Your choice between Sierra Nevada's Pale Ale or Blue Moon with the high price of $6 each. My parents drinks where even more expensive. The beer selection brings me to the last visit. Sadly, we brought our best friends here warning them that drinks would be expensive but the view is great. Again, not a lot of options for someone visiting in the Winter. We told them just to order beer, when it came to ordering apparently they now only have one beer on tap because they ran out of the other. (What piss poor management for allowing this to happen, when the place doesn't give any other options).

We stayed at the Hyatt and this place was recommended to us apres-ski. After a back-breaking ski lessons from the day before, we came here to have brunch. The place was amazing, very lodge-y, warm and cozy. The food was great, I especially loved the waffles and thick bacon. the bubbly isn't too good though. The view of the lake was spectacular, I totally felt like writing a novel here.

Have the prime rib dip sandwich for lunch, it was incredible. Starting the meal off with pretzel bread and butter with truffle sauce while enjoying lunch on the patio overlooking lovely lake Tahoe was superb. Our waiter Greg was very nice and knowledgeable. I would stay away from the cheesecake though.

Ugh. I was teetering on whether to give The Lone Eagle a one star or two star rating, then I thought about the extreme level of nausea that washed over me as soon as I returned to our hotel room after dinner, and I quickly decided to go for the one. However, I consider myself an optimist, so let me start with the good things. I hear the view is spectacular, but being that our reservation was at 8:00, we unfortunately didn't get to experience it. The butternut squash soup was to-die-for and the ceasar salad was good, although very overdressed. Our server was very nice and seemed to be very familiar with the menu and answered all of our questions politely and with a smile. Now on to the horrible parts. Oh wait, one more good thing...all I can say is thank GOODNESS for the sommelier's suggestions and the wine list because that is all that got us through our entrees. Ugh... First of all, I try to be a vegetarian about 95% of the time. I was dismayed when I looked at the main courses to see not a single veggie option. Since we were with my bf's work colleagues and I didn't want to seem like a pain, I ordered the chicken with polenta thinking that had to be relatively harmless. Oh how wrong I was. It was hands down the worst dish at our table of 6, which is saying a lot because not a one of us liked our dishes (and we aren't snobby foodies or picky...just friends out for a nice dinner). The greasy bone-in chicken (mostly dark meat) literally turned my stomach so I resorted to the polenta. Bring on another glass of wine. The rest of our group ate half of their entrees as well, and my favorite comment of the night was my bf asking what he'd had because it didn't taste like anything (it was supposed to be a tenderloin). The shrimp and buffalo had by our other partners in crime left us all wanting to go back to our hotel bar for some late night nachos. Our tab with tip ended up being almost $700 and every one of us left feeling pretty annoyed that the food had been so bad and so expensive. Not to sound over-the-top harsh, but the $10 sandwich I had in the Denver airport on the way to Tahoe FAR exceeded the level of satisfaction of the Lone Eagle meal. Ugh...save your pennies and go to Bite instead for tapas...amazing.

Expensive but great spot for drinks in north lake tahoe. Not sure about food. This restaurant (part of hyatt) has its own beach and dock, nicely landscaped, and great for relaxing with a cocktail. We had the "golden eagle", which was a tasty blended drink. We were there on sunday afternoon and they had a $40 buffet that appeared delicious - everything from omeletes, waffles, to make-your-own salad, crab legs, shrimp cocktail, etc. The large wood and stone interior is nicely decorated with old canoes and tahoe-related things

i was surprised to read so many negative reviews after having enjoyed a nice lunch at the lone eagle this afternoon. there are many factors that made my visit a pleasant one. it was relatively dead for a late lunch on a thursday, which made me happy. the view was beautiful, and it was really nice to not have to ask for a seat at the window overlooking the lake. i loved the hugeness of the place right off the bat----high ceilings, ginormous fireplaces, and a commanding alpine view. yes, the prices are high. however coming from the bay area, it's not much of a difference. i did have relatively high expectations based on a quick assessment of the decor, ambiance and prices. portions are large enough to split----mrs e and i had the buffalo burger with rosemary asiago french fries and large chopped salad with seasonal veggies and cucumber ranch dressing. the burger came as ordered, just a little pink inside. nice chipotle bbq sauce. fries were flavorful. the salad was BIG and laden with broccoli, green beans, diced cooked potatoes, cherry tomatoes and cucumber. iced tea and lemonade were satisfactory. i was impressed with the fact that nice flaky kosher salt came out of the copper shaker, and enjoyed snacking on warm mini pretzel rolls while waiting for food to arrive. people there were friendly, and our server amanda was great. the damage for 2 entrees and 2 non-alcoholic drinks without tip was $43. i'm okay with that, considering it's for what i consider good food and a great view. i look forward to coming back and sipping on some wine or scotch by the fire.

Always have a great time at the Lone Eagle Grille - love the view of the Lake and the gorgeous sunsets. The food is excellent as well as the wine selections. The staff is also top notch. Make sure to stop by on a Wednesday - Saturday night to hear Luke Stevenson play!

Food here is better than most hotel restaurants, but they do come at a hefty premium. I would have given it 4 stars, but the utter inefficiency of the place gets 1 star deduction. If you want to dine there, I recommend making reservation 1 week in advance then show up 30 minutes before your reserved time. I had to wait close to 1 hour even with my reservation and the place was not even packed!! I could see a lot of empty tables. However, please do not be discouraged. The food is probably the most sophisticated one you can get in the area.

Yelpers seem to dislike this place for dinner. I did not have dinner here, but did stuff myself silly at a BBQ, and came here afterward for drinks. It's cozy and comfy inside, and breezy and cool outside, where you can join hands and sing kumbaya by the patio firepit. The pier is romantic, but terribly unfortunate if there's a lack of sparks between you and your fella. Word has it that mature gals learn proper fundamentals at cougar camp at the Balboa, and showcase their feline skills at the Lone Eagle. Onward and upward! That's how they roll in the I.V. Three stars for keeping Tahoe blue!

My husband and I ate here for the first time this past weekend. It was recommended by the Hyatt across the street, where we were staying. We enjoyed this place very much as we ate there twice over the weekend. The first day we had lunch. We had the seafood appetizer plate which was beautifully presented and delicious. The ahi tartar was killer! For entrees, I had the scallop spinach salad and my husband had the calamari Caesar salad. The scallops in my salad were huge and the entire salad was delicious. Normally it comes with Gorgonzola cheese, but I can't stand cheese so it was omitted. So I can only vouch for the way it tastes without cheese. My husband's calamari salad had a very generous portion of calamari and he enjoyed it. We returned the next morning for brunch. We had the French Toast with caramelized banana, pecans and vanilla syrup. YUM! The toast was delicious and not soggy - which is what I normally hate about French toast. Like everyone one else here, I loved the view! Try and get a seat by the window....the view of the lake and mountains is spectacular!

I do not normally eat bread before the meal but this place has pretzel rolls that are super fantastic. The French Onion soup was damn good and I love the Buffalo. Really cool lodge like feel and a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe, especially at sunset. I'm headed back there tonight, so see you there :o)

We were disappointed in our dinner. Our lamb and venison were both over cooked, the server asked us both is we wanted our meat cooked medium rare and responded "Yes, that would be great" ... both dishes were medium well and we will not go back. This is pretty basic, right? Actually the only reason we decided on dining here is because it's shoulder season and our other favorites were not open. We sooo want this place to be good, the location is wonderful and if they had excellent food it would be the talk of the town. Sorry lost another Incliner! '

5 stars for the Bar, 2 stars for the Restaurant so I had to give it a 3 overall. I would definitely come back here to sit in the bar for drinks. We came on a Saturday night with a party of 4 for dinner. We got here early so decided to have a drink. I could have stayed in the lounge all night and skipped dinner. The seating is ample and allows for various sizes of parties. There is also cozy lounge seating and more traditional tables. Unfortunately all seats were taken by the time we arrived but there was an awesome fire out on the patio and we grabbed two rocking chairs, sat by the fire, and enjoyed the full moon. The guitarist in the bar also knew his stuff! I was definitely impressed by his renditions of MGMT and Kings of Leon. Dinner was another story entirely. While the service was great, the food was mediocre and overpriced! Our bill came to $300 including tax and tip. That included 3 entrees, One Appetizer, and a bottle of wine. The lobster mashed potatoes were awesome, but the steaks were nothing special. And mine was unfortunately overdone and a bit on the tough side. They also did not have any dessert wine by the glass which seemed odd. Overall a disappointing experience. But again, I would absolutely be back for after-dinner drinks and entertainment!

Pros: 1. Food is really good. I've been there for brunch and lunch. both times I found it great. 2. The view is the best in tahoe - just because you get a view of the lake while you're in this great space. I saw a bald eagle there once in the winter. 3. Service is very good as well Cons: 1. This place is pretty pricey. At times I question whether its worth it. 2. Brunch buffet is about the same as the Silver Legacy brunch buffet in Reno. You just get a much better view for about $20 more.

We love this place. Whether eating in the dining room or lounging in the bar area (where you can order from the entire menu) this place is beautifully upscale mountain lodgey, warm and charming and has FANTASTIC FOOD. Our favorites are the bison and elk entrees. Their wines by the glass are good too. Did I mention you have a lakefront view and that the bar area has live music in the evening? Great for a romantic evening, entertaining friends for a special occassion or anytime you want to treat yourself.

My family and I ate lunch there today. My wife and I both had the buffalo burger and it was pretty good. Mine was a little over cooked but other than that, we had a very nice time. The view is breath taking. Today was a CLEAR CLEAR day and the backdrop of the snow on the mountain made for a nice picture.

This place is quite possibly one of the best restaurants I've ever dined in. Despite the fact that we had to wait 2 hours for our table (we did not have a reservation, and the place was packed on a Saturday night), while we enjoyed the nice location with a great view of the lake and had drinks next to the fire pit outside. The pricing is a bit steep, but in addition to paying for the location and the views, I feel that the quality of the food and the service is commensurate with the price levels here. We were constantly tended to by very nice and quick waitress, as well as several supporting staff who would clear away dirty plates and glasses without ever interfering with our dinner - it almost felt like the stuff was disappearing itself. The dishes were coming in a nicely-timed manner - maybe because it was about 10PM and the place did empty out somewhat when we were eating, but nonetheless, everything was timed perfectly. The duck appitizer was no doubt the best and the most tender duck I've ever had (although I did not realize you could make duck medium-rare). The sea scallops that my wife ordered were perfectly prepared as well as the buffalo that I ordered. The waitress did warn us that we may have ordered a bit too much, so I had to force-feed myself once my wife was so full she couldn't finish the scallops - couldn't let such goodness go to waste. Another nice touch was the fact that when we asked to split the French onion soup, they brought it to us in individual smaller bowls, instead of bringing the regular portion and a separate empty bowl for us to split ourselves. Overall - a wonderful dining experience, especially for a resort restaurant, but be prepared to pay dearly here, as it is expensive, but it's worth it 100% for a once-a-year special occasion meal.

We come to Tahoe every summer and try to make it here for dinner most every visit. Very good food. It's one of my favorites in the area (most restaurants in Tahoe are kinda cheesy, overpriced, and not the freshest of food...but this place defies all that). First of all, it's situated on a beautiful stretch of beach in North Lake Tahoe (a refreshing 25-30 minute drive from South Lake Tahoe...and a more rustic, wilderness feel to the area than the "casino row" schmaltz of commercialism that is most of South Lake Tahoe). The Hyatt Resort that the restaurant is located in is gorgeous. You can stroll their private beach before or after your meal and then sit and enjoy the nicely appointed fire pit just outside the restaurant overlooking the lake. The food is very fresh and well seasoned. I can't remember eating anything here I didn't like. I still recall the chilled cucumber soup I had my first visit years ago. Delicious - with just a dollop of yogurt, basil vinaigrette and olive oil on top. The service is wonderful and the bar area of the restaurant has live music most nights. This places makes for the complete Lake Tahoe experience and you'll be very satisfied with the value. It may seem pricey to some, but it's definitely an upscale restaurant with a very talented chef that warrants the moderately high prices.

I first discovered Lone Eagle Grille during a weekend stay at the Hyatt Regency. The restaurant and atmosphere is quite charming during the Holidays. The ground was covered in inches of snow and inside the restaurant awaits a breathtaking tall/slender Christmas tree. This all adds to the charisma of the restaurant + lake and the feel of a spacious log cabin atmosphere. I would definitely recommend this place to celebrate and bring in the holidays. Luke Stevenson is Tahoe's very own musical performer and makes this place alive every Wednesday thru Saturday 6-10pm. Nothing tops this whole experience off with their wide array of specialty drinks. During the winter months, I prefer their hot liquor drinks. The Banana rum cider w/ cinnamon stick topped off with whipped cream will warm you inside. You don't have to make reservations for dinner to have a good time here. Walk-in to grab a big comfy seat in the bar lounge any night you are in Tahoe. This place is a favorite of mine.

Beautiful and impressive interior, terrific view of the lake. Good cocktails Service was so-so, understaffed in my opinion Food was not worth $$$$, more like $$. However, we all had fish or salads/soup for dinner, so their meat offerings might be better. Bottom line: I would go back there for a drink while looking at the lake, but there are much better places to eat within 7 miles of Incline Village

I've never actually had dinner here so I can't vouch for that. I HAVE been to the all you can eat/drink champagne brunch before though! Six or seven times! It's THAT good! I'll quickly walk you through a brunch at the Lone Eagle Grill: You make reservations. You show up. You look around and notice the cool faux-lodge decor. You get seated at your table that overlooks the GORGEOUS lake. Now has anyone ever been to an "all you can drink" champagne brunch but the waiter significantly slows down the pours after say, your second glass *ahem the Palace Hotel Sunday brunch ahem*? Well there's NONE of that here. Right of the bat your server will be by the table with a bottle of champagne, letting you know about the specialties of the day, offering you coffee, lattes, orange juice, and inviting you to go pig out at the buffet. You go. You see the omelet bar. You see the seafood station. You see the waffles, the pancakes (which always have a "special" ingredient, be it white chocolate & macadamia nuts, macadamia brittle, lavender, candied walnuts, all sooooo good), the biscuits & buffalo sausage gravy, the seafood station, the prime rib, the roast pork, the cheese plate, the dessert section! Not to MENTION all the artsy stuff I can't even remember (prosciutto wrapped asparagas anyone? perhaps some steak carpaccio?) Oh my! On top the aforementioned free flowing champagne, the food is ALL GREAT. It does NOT taste like buffet food at all. Really the food, the champagne, the setting, the lake, the service. Its all incredible. You're going to drop about $40 a person for this meal but even my cheap ass thinks its worth every penny. A definite must visit if your in Tahoe for the weekend, but one piece of advice: GO HUNGRY!

Yes, it's a beautiful view, yes the service is good, and the bar is cozy. Too bad the food did not live up to the hype. I was really excited to try this place. They were promoting a new chef who has stellar credentials and the menu sounded interesting. I'd been there several years ago for lunch and thought it was good, but couldn't remember what I had. This time, I have Yelp to record it. Corn chowder with lobster. Tasted ok, but they screwed up the presentation. The soup came in a bowl which was resting on a cloth napkin on top of a plate. The napkin was obviously there to keep the bowl in place and I appreciated that - it was a nice touch. But, the plate was very hot, the bowl was sort of hot, and the soup was just lukewarm. I didn't get it. This is what I think they did - the plate was heated, but I think they put the hot soup into a cold bowl and by the time it all got to the table, the bowl had gotten hot, and the soup was just warm. bummer. Buffalo with grilled foie gras, asparagus, gorgonzola cranberry risotto cake - loved, loved, loved the buffalo, it was very well prepared and exactly how I like my steaks - slightly charred on the outside, pink (not red) and warm all the way thru. Requested the pesto polenta instead of the gorgonzola risotto cake (cause I don't like gorgonzola or fruit in my rice.) The polenta had too much pesto in it which overwhelmed the corn flavor. The single little piece of foie gras was sliced too thin to be placed on the grill and the result was a thing so tough I couldn't get my knife thru it. The asparagus was decent, just placed on the grill - good, but boring. What? Being picky? Well so what - I'm happy eating at a dive if the food is good. This place just did not live up to reputation and at about $250 for 2 - it was just too much. I'm not sure if the new chef was cooking that night or not, but I think the mark of a truly great chef is if the food is good on their days off.

I was surprised to see the poor reviews on yelp because all 6 of us had an amazing dinner at this place. The second we stepped into this place, we immediately fell in love with the cozy, warm ambiance of the place. Huge windows, huge space, inviting fireplaces surrounded by comfortable chairs. It has a very rustic yet modern feel to it. Upscale but not stuffy. Foodwise: I had the best veal i have ever tasted here. I had never seen such an enormous lobster tail cooked to perfection paired with the most tender of beef tenderloin. The seabass was a good portion and cooked well. Not to mention, the shrimp and scallop dish was just divine. Both shrimps and scallops were huge and tender, and juicy. I loved every bite of it. To top it off, Service was great. My friend's lamb dish tasted funky and when he mentioned it to the waitress. She took it back, polite and all smiles, with no questions asked. I have to give this place 5 stars. And I will definitely go back.

I hate to be a party pooper, but I am just so damn tired of reading "it has a wonderful view..." reviews. C'mon now people, this is Tahoe, IT"S ALL VIEWS!!! Rate a restaurant by the quality of food, their service and their prices for Pete's sake! We had lunch there another day and here are my thoughts. My $19.00 Caesar salad with grilled chicken breast was just as exciting as a bag of frozen fish sticks... The lettuce was awfully bitter, the dressing was slightly on the "acidy" side and the breast itself had no particular flavor. For all i know, it could have been any kind of meat, it had no seasoning. My friend had a chicken sandwich with (i think) a grilled portabella mushroom, roasted peppers and a side salad. Her sandwich had a little more flavor then my salad, but considering the list of ingredients was still too bland for my taste. The service was naturally, very friendly and courteous, the food was served to us quickly, the prices are your typical 5 star restaurant's (although i am not sure exactly how many stars they claim they have). I guess I may have had high expectation for this place, but wouldn't you hope to get some incredible food experience buying a $20.00 salad?

Overpriced dinner prices. $38 prime rib (salad extra) covered with a thin dark gravy instead of au jus, making it difficult to see the fat to cut away, insufficient horseradish. High ceilings and abundance of wood and stone make table conversation difficult. Being right on the edge of the lake, at this restaurant one presumably pays for the outstanding view; at night in the dark this is irrevelant.

I have been coming here for years and I was a bit disappointed the last several times I went for dinner. This week I had taken some friends from Australia there for the view mostly and we decided to have dinner. I was pleasantly surprised at the revamped attempt of the menu and the service was very very good. My friend and I had the elk loin and it was done perfectly. Our two wives had fish and they also were very pleased. The wine list is a bit pricey if you don't want to spend as much for the bottle of wine as dinner for four? Seems they are back on track and we will certainly bring our many Tahoe visitors there for the dining experience again....

We have been here twice, one for my husband's birthday and one was a long weekend. We didn't make a reservation in advanced because we didn't plan to dine here; however, when we called the day we went there, they were willing to put us down for reservations in the dinning room nearby the bar area; service was quite nice over there, every one was friendly and patience. We ordered their foie gras, steaks and mussels for both times along with some scotch and red wines; we enjoyed everything, especially the foie gras - it was cooked to perfection, I just wish for the price, they would give bigger portion. The rib eye steaks were very juicy and full of flavor, but not as good as the one I had at Alexander Steakhouse in Cuppertino. I hope they will serve prime ribs as well; they didn't have it when we were there the last two times. They have a very nice area outside the restaurant, in front of the beach; they also have a fireplace where you can sit there to enjoy the sunset with your wine. A great place for vacation!

As other reviewers have mentioned, this is an amazing restaurant to dine at while watching the sun slowly disappear into the mountains. The ambience is perfect for a romantic dinner, and even though we brought our young kid along, they were extremely accommodating! Live music adds to the pleasant experience. We tried the sunset dinner menu, going with the mix green salad, the short ribs, and a slice of chocolate cake. We also ordered the tomato bisque and a starter fettuccini. The short ribs were extremely well cooked - I think there was a very slight hint of horseradish in the dish, which was surprising but went very well and accented the soft and juicy ribs perfectly. The carrots that came with the ribs were also perfectly cooked -- slightly sweet but retaining enough resistance to the bite. I also thought the tomato bisque was very well done -- not too creamy and having a wonderful aroma coming from the whole roasted garlic added to the soup. Server was very attentive, and the water glass was always filled up promptly without us having to ask. They also explained what each type of bread was when it was brought to the table -- a very nice touch I haven't seen frequently at other restaurants. I'll admit that it's definitely not cheap, but if you're on vacation and get a chance to splurge a bit on one meal, definitely give Lone Eagle Grille a try. If we were to come back to Hyatt again, I would definitely come back again for another meal.

Not impressed for the price. $35 corkage fee! Most of the Food was bland. The short ribs, Frio gras, and soup were tasty. Muscles, potatoes, mac and cheese, tart tar were, blah. Crab cakes tasted like fast food. Seemed like there was Truffle oil on everything else. Again, Not impressed.

We were happy to nab a window table in the lounge. The great view made up for very poor service. DH's coffee drink arrived first. Then a bread basket with an apology that more bread was baking and would be out soon. Long wait and a second bread basket with the much anticipated pumpernickel rolls arrived. Finally my beet salad and pear cider arrived. The salad was excellent and the bread basket a flavorful bargain at $5. Still don't understand the spotty service with only minimal apology.

Update: They offer a cheaper $40 3-course "Sunset Dinner" prix-fixe menu Sun-Thu, from 5:30-6:30. You get a soup or salad, a choice of 3 entrees, and crème brûlée dessert. The potato-leek soup was meh: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… And the crème brûlée dessert was indistinguishable from every other crème brûlée: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… However, the Cabernet Briased Wagyu Short Ribs were outstanding: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… Super great flavor, both in the short ribs and in the sauce. Just the right amount of savory fat, too. It was also a huge portion; I'm sure it's the same portion size as the $42 entree from the a la carte menu. So, overall, the Sunset dinner is a good deal. They have a great "Tahoe Tuesday" happy hour on Tuesday from 5:30-8, with 1/2 price wines by the glass, $5 apps, $8 drinks, and live music: yelp.com/user_local_phot… The happy hour house made potato chips are outstanding: yelp.com/user_local_phot… The happy hour salad is great: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… The happy hour pizza is hit or miss: One time it was great, one time it was horrible: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… The happy hour risotto is astoundingly bad: avoid at all costs: yelp.com/user_local_phot… The wine is great: I really liked the "Educated Guess" Cabernet, and the Armand Riesling by the glass. The pork belly is on the dinner appetizer: it's excellent, but it's $14 for what is basically one large bite: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… The pork belly at Big Water grille is much better. The Tres Leche demi-sphere is good, but not much better than the tres leche cake that you can get at Safeway: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… I tried the legendary "Baked Tahoe", a local version of "Baked Alaska": yelp.com/biz_photos/lone… It's as good as it looks. However, underneath the meringue is about a pint of ice cream: it's best to share among at least four people. Warning: The foie gras has gone way downhill. It is now a "flattened" version; It's no longer plump and perfect: yelp.com/biz_photos/lone…

I've been to the Lone Eagle over 30 times and sadly but frankly the overall assessment is that it's at an all time low. Starting with the service. From the Bartenders to the host staff to the wait staff (excluding an excellent and attentive bussing staff). They are just not socially refreshing as you would expect in a restaurant that commands such high asking prices for food and drink. I used to be full before appetizers because the bread and butter alone was to die for. The bread we just ate really tasted "old". Entire presentation was bare and overall quality should be 4 stars on a bad night. I give it a charitable 3 stars. Decor is old and stuffy (even worn out) Enuf said!! Might be back for a sunset drink but not for dinner in the foreseeable future.

Earlier in the week we had a semi bad experience as far as service goes. I spoke to the GM Carrie and she was extremely helpful, she immediately offered to fix the mistakes. We went back tonight, had a perfect dinner and drinks and amazing service. Perfect way to end our honeymoon.

You know for the price I had to leave one star. Food was average to just below average. Ordered a scallops appetizer and didn't ask just how many scallops came with the order.. For $18 the plate had two on it when the waitress served it.. I mean,, maybe people like to think $18 is okay for two scallops but sorry,, not the world I live in and I live in an above average world.. They were okay but nothing special, just seared with a sauce. They were the size of the scallops in a $42 bag from Costco that has 3 lbs. I had short ribs that were more fatty than I would have thought for $45 and my wife had fish that was average. No real complaints other than the $9 scallop. For the price, just ridiculous.. $35 corkage fee. Our bill came to 165 as we did bring our own wine. I would suggest, Lone Range Steak House in Kings Beach. The Steak House at the Crystal Bay Club or Big Water Grill in Incline.. As a local,, Lone Eagle has a reputation for being over priced for aveage food in a very nice setting.. You can't deny them that.. It is beautiful inside and nice setting for a drink on the lake in the summer.. If that's what your looking for you'll enjoy that.. Good luck and enjoy the Incline / N. Tahoe area.. We are glad you came.

I have dined here once in the summer for lunch and once for dinner over the holidays. I am giving it 2 stars for the obscene prices they charged for dinner over the holidays. We enjoyed our previous lunch experience very much so looked forward to coming back with the family on Dec 23. The lake views are great, the inside décor is super cozy and the service is good. My meal was ok - fettuccine and lamb meat balls, but nothing special. The duck, however was superb. But $57-59 for a steak that comes with no sides (each $6-9 each) is ridiculous to me. If we do come back, it will only be for lunch. $100 per person for no starter, no dessert and one drink is way too much to spend - regardless how nice the view is!

Normally we love this place but lunch today was quite an experience. I ordered the bison burger which arrived promptly and was cooked perfectly. I cut the burger in half and had about finished eating the first half when something moving in the other half caught my eye. A worm proceeded to start crawling across the patty. Needless to say I lost my appetite. The server came over and immediately removed the plate and offered me a new one which I declined. A little later one of the mgrs came by and apologized and said she wouldn't charge me for my burger...ya think!!! Don't think I'll be ordering another burger here.

Having traveled a ton and really liking nice restaurants rarely do I get sticker shocked at menu prices. My visit last night to the lone eagle had my jaw drop as to what the prices are like these days. It's been several years since I've been here for dinner and the prices have at least doubled. Having said that, the service, ambiance and food is still impeccable. To give you an idea on the prices we started with a $35 cork fee to open our own wine. Salad starters were $10, entree( a la carte) $36, and sides ranging $6-$12. There is an a la carte t-bone and filet on the menu at $55 & $60 a pop. For an occasion it really is an experience but their prices have gotten off the charts high. Highlights of our meal: fresh bread, potato leek soup, pork chop, sea bass ciapinno and crab stuffed salmon.

For the price, one would expect more. Then again, are views and roaring fireplaces priceless? Not quite. The food is well executed across the board and the service is attentive. An ahi tuna nicoise was solid months back, but a recent piece of grilled salmon was lackluster. It may have been a big piece of fish, but ordering a $33 piece of salmon that shows up only with sauce on the plate and a few seconds too long on the grill, is not worth it. The grill items are all served a la carte and they start around $33 for salmon up to the mid-50's. The filet mignon (6 oz for $45), again a piece of meat and sauce, was cooked as requested, but didn't excite. An heirloom tomato salad and Sazerac cocktail were both well put together. If you don't eat half the bread basket you might have room for dessert. I haven't yet exhibited this kind of restraint. Great ambiance and service, but it's unfortunate there aren't many other quality options in North Lake as I feel like Lone Eagle is taking advantage of the lack of competition and we are paying the price.

The food here was REALLY good and you CANNOT beat the view. The service was really great, between our very nice hostess and the two servers, we felt very welcomed. The server made great recommendations on their hit dishes. It IS pricey, but not horrible for the ambiance. When we travel to Tahoe again, this will be a stop for dinner (might be too pricey to have for just lunch).

  • Misha T.

I had the grilled salmon salad and while it was expensive, it was actually quite large and filling. The salmon had that good crispy on the outside, soft on the inside thing going and the hearts of palm were tasty. I didn't think the addition of grapefruit really worked though.

The restaurant does provide the high end type of surroundings and menu. There is not much one can say about anything that is negative. However the cost is a bit high for the food and the experience. With food and service respectable the cost of the evening is just too out of the ball park to rate it higher.

First, be prepared for a pricing menu. That being said, this place provides a wonderful dinner experience. If you love redmeat pass up the beef fillet and have the bison fillet. It's not cheap but it's worth every bite. The atmosphere is lively and you can tell the diners are enjoying themselves. There is live music in the bar area which filters through the rest of the restaurant. Large fireplaces put out warmth and add to the atmosphere. Go early for cocktails, sit out by the open fire pit and watch the sun set over the lake.

We've dined here multiple times in the past, this time, our experience was by far our best. The staff was very accommodating to our family and seated us 30 minutes prior to our actual reservation. The food, from the pasta starter and beat salad to the bison filet were cooked perfectly. The decor is set for a perfect Tahoe Christmas experience coupled with amazing service and food. You can't go wrong.

I had a high expectation for the restaurant since it is such a popular place. Good: Service-server was attentive. Space is beautiful with high ceiling and exposed beams, plus you have a great view of the lake. Bad: food...mushrooms were overcooked and dry, foie gras was too salty....the only thing I liked was the hamachi tartar which had avocados and marinated cucumber. The creaminess of the avocado combined with the tangy-ness of the marinated cucumber gave the dish a nice balance. It was almost like a cerviche. Advise: come for drinks/appetizers while enjoy the view. Skip the dinner.

  • Stephanie R.

They said there was live music but it did not start until late. The food is super small portions and just mediocre but the prices are high. On a good day, the view is what you're paying for. But if it's not a nice day you're wasting your $$ The service has always been good! I would say go there just for cocktails.

I thoroughly enjoyed the scallops as a starter and the Brandt Beef Filet Mignon (local) as my entrée. I enjoyed every last bite. Pros: The view from most seats in this restaurant are amazing. I can imagine having an amazing party/wedding reception here. Staff were all incredibly attentive and efficient. Food and cocktails were excellent. Cons: Wish I had room in my stomach for more food!

Absolutely wonderful dining experience! We came in for our 1 year wedding anniversary and they sat us right in front of the cozy fireplace. We started off with the live butter lettuce salad, my wife got her's with the vanilla thyme dressing which was definitely a unique but tasty flavor combination. She also had the Beachside cocktail and now wants me to make them for her at home. We both had the 6 oz filet which was the best filet mignon I've ever had (aside from Ruth's Chris.) I've had filet at Morton's, Mastro's, Flemings and countless other steakhouses but this was definitely one of my favorites. They then surprised us with a complimentary dessert, the Baked Tahoe! I'm not normally a dessert person but this was pretty epic and I had to dive in. Very fitting s'more type dessert for sitting fireside. The live entertainment was the cherry on top! He played a great mix of classic rock and folk love songs. This was definitely a very memorable anniversary dinner and the Lone Eagle has set the bar pretty high for future dining experiences.

Wonderful view! But the rest is so over rated. Just had a mediocre bottle of wine, over cooked crab cakes and a disinterested server who acted like we were bothering her when we asked for things like a clean plate since the one she brought out was dirty. Also, if you are going to charge high prices on your wine, I expect the server to be able to competently open it without getting pieces of cork in everything. I had time to write this while waiting for my check. Still waiting.

My boyfriend and I were in Tahoe this weekend and I wanted to take him out to a nice restaurant for his birthday. Lone Eagle came recommended by family and did not disappoint. We went early and had drinks in the bar and enjoyed the view and guitarist. We both had the Professor D cocktail and enjoyed it. Then we were sat in the main restaurant for dinner. After looking over the menu for a bit we were served a variety of breads that were warm and delicious. We ordered the Seared Barramundi Fillet which was amazing. The fish was moist and flaky with a thin crispy crust, I would definitely order it again. We also had Bison Tenderloin which was very good. Neither of us had tried bison so we were curious. It was flavorful, but for the price I prefer Filet Mignon. We also had Mac & Cheese and truffle fries and both were excellent. Being that it was my boyfriend's birthday I order a baked Tahoe and it was brought out with a candle. It was delicious! Maybe the waiters didn't communicate because after we finished what we could of dessert- we were stuffed- the other waiter who had been helping us brought a chocolate mousse dessert with a candle. I wish they would have let us know that we would receive a complimentary dessert for his birthday so we either didn't order one or could tell them not to bring the second one. It was very nice, but just too much food.

My bf and I stopped in here for a sunset dinner while on vacation and although the weather didn't let us enjoy too much of the lake, the food was quite pleasant. The ravioli was a bit of a disappointment, it tasted like something frozen and reheated. However, the elk tenderloin was delicious. My bf had the bison tenderloin and he loved it. The side dishes are massive! They could probably be split among 2-3ppl. The fire pit out back was probably the best part of the visit, we got to meet some interesting people while sitting outside. The old fashioned drink was delicious as well.

I drive up from South Lake Tahoe...all the way to the bar at the Lone Eagle Grille anytime that I come to Lake Tahoe for more than a couple days! The view, ambiance, and whiskey/scotch/bourbon selection outright requires me to! In general the drinks are over-priced, then food ranges from good to occasionally great...seldom bad, and seldom remarkable. I enjoy the interior so much though that I want to bring in an outstanding chef and make this a 5 star place...so much potential here. There is a huge rustic fireplace, enormous lake-facing windows, and huge vaulted wood-laden ceilings. The Lone Eagle Grille combines a mountain cabin with a fine steakhouse feel in a beautiful way. So...if you don;t mind a paying a little more than you would for the same thing in a larger city, and have some time to relax and enjoy a drink...come here the next chance you get...and feel free to stay for a meal, though you might want to call-ahead on the weekends.

You can't beat Lake Tahoe for your backdrop, and the facilities are just as beautiful. The staff was wonderful from the hostess through the waiter to the busboy. We split a wonderful bowl of fennel and mushroom soup. The dried cherry risotto was also a different and delightful surprise. I would have given 5 stars but for the ribs appetizer, which was clearly cooked days ahead of time and reheated and sauced before serving. They were dried out and tough.

I hadn't been there in awhile because it used to be so awful. Friends suggested we meet there. It is crowded and noisy (I like Tahoe tranquil) and pricey, but the food was good, the service ok, and the entertainment pretty good. It was a far cry better than several years ago. It is hard to get a table where you actually look at the Lake, and it seems like a big tourist trap, so I, as a local can think of a lot of other restaurants I would prefer to go to. All depends of what you're looking for, I guess. A lot of people hang there because it is a close walk from the Hyatt and like to be in the "scene." My scene is on the other side of the door - the beautiful Lake and mountains.

Reading other people's review, I guess my hubby and I were extremely lucky when we came here each time. We were here three times: 2x in the lunge looking out the Lake Tahoe and 1x in the main restaurant, each time we left with great sense of pleasure and satisfaction. I guess the lunge area could be way too busy and difficult to find a seat, but when you do find a seat around the sunset time, it was a true pleasure to listen to live music with a glass of wine while you appreciate the lovely view. We also had dinner once here, the bar food is also very good. As for the restaurant, we were lucky to have Michelle and Kristie taking care of us. Michelle made great recommendation for food and Kristie made my hubby a very happy man by pairing wine for each of the dishes he ordered. We had: Foie Gras Fish Special Filet Sprouts Creamless Spinach Kinker Brick Marino The fish special I had was just divine! For what we had, the price was very reasonable, that was not what we could get in New York. Highly recommended!!!

I'm not sure why I gave this restaurant even 1 star, it is bad. Small menu, incorrectly prepared food, very snobbish wait staff, poorly trained wait staff. $400.00 lunch for 6 people on Dec 29, 2013. Stay away

  • Ed D.

Service was great. Staff very attentive. Food great. Prices a bit high considering the casual and loud atmosphere. Bad live lounge music blaring throughout dinner was annoying. The two ladies who were taking care of our table were there when you needed them but not overly intrusive. I had the foie gras appetizer and filet mignon 10 oz (6 oz would have sufficed) side of wild mushrooms and asparagus all perfect, only complaint is I ordered too much food to eat! If you are in Incline Village I recommend this restaurant and not just because there really are no other choices. The Hyatt hotel is another story! I will review that separately.

A 5-star rating is entirely appropriate. We commented amongst the group that if any one element of the experience falls down, even if those are individually 5-stars each, the whole experience does not measure up. On this night, everything out-performed from where we were seated, the view precisely at sunset, a spectacular weather day, impeccable service, and fabulous food. I see the other reviews that are quite different from this one; I can only imagine that these were not for a dinner service, not on an un-crowded weeknight, nor during an off-season part of the year. Two in the party had the Waygu shortribs, generous portion, super well prepared, cipolino onions; one with the horseradish mashed potatoes, and one substituted bacon-braised brussel sprouts. Another had Halibut with celery-root puree, broccoli rabe, red-pepper couli, and final dish was the salmon special, herb crusted, pomegranate puree, melted leeks, and horseradish mashed potatoes [pomegranate puree just subtle enough to not overtake the natural flavor of the salmon]. We used the on-table 'iPad' wine list, which had both wines by the glass and bottles, along with wine pairing suggestions for the menu. Went with the Nickel & Nickel chardonnay, which was excellent and a perfect match for the fish dishes. We liked we could easily read an electronic wine menu in a dark dining room; however, noted traditionalists or non-social media conversant may not appreciate this feature. topped off the meal with a 'Baked Tahoe', their version of a baked Alaska Never felt rushed, nor that the pace should have been speeded up; spent 2 hours at the table. Again, because every element was on point, and because not one element failed, I give 5-stars. Definitely will re-try in the future to see if consistency can match tonight.

We stayed at the Hyatt resort and saved this place for dinner on the last night since the reviews the restaurant received were very mixed. We had a late dinner which was probably better as the restaurant was less busy. Our table by the window would have been perfect in the day, but at night we looked out to a roaring fire in the outdoor pit. Our servers were very attentive and anticipated all our needs, except for wine pours. Coming from CA, we were delighted to see foie gras on the menu and it was worth sharing just for that little bit of sweet richness. The lamb chops were cooked to perfection and was a really great piece of meat. Our sides of carrots and corn kernel was wiped clean too. Were we just lucky? We don't think so!

this is a review as a wedding guest who simply enjoyed the experience, food, and lack of bill :) my family and i recently celebrated my sister's wedding at the Hyatt on the beach neighboring this restaurant, and followed the morning ceremony with brunch. our reservation was booked as a standard meal, rather than through an event coordinator, but the staff was greatly accommodating of the largish (~20) people and handled everything promptly and professionally. we had to flag one of our servers down a few times but nothing warranting feeling unattended. i love their complimentary bread baskets. any time i see pretzel bread my eyes light up. our table started with a few apps: the cheese board and artichoke dip. the cheese board was delightful with a good variety of cheeses to sample and complimenting num nums - candied pecans? devine. the artichoke dip was fine, just nothing special to me. even thought it was after noon, the brunch menu was available. however, the chicken sandwich on the lunch menu caught my eye. however that didnt stop me, or my entire table (sans under age little bro) from ordering the bottomless mimosas for $10. in the beginning of the meal we had to actively flag someone down for a refill, but toward the end they were more than generous and i could barely keep up! chicken sandwich: absolutely delicious. the chicken couldnt have been cooked more perfectly and the portion was great to save half for later...the few apps and bread helped with that, though. all in all, completely satisfied. but this is a biased opinion from someone who didn't pay the bill and doesnt frequent the hyatt, tahoe, or hold my nose up in snobby expectations in general. just cook my chicken perfectly, keep the mimosas coming, and you win my approval.

Not a very good experience. The food is fair, but absolutely not worth for this price. I ordered the lamp chop; it came with some onion; not impressive at all. Plus, the kitchen is very near the dining area, but I have no idea why our food was just warm. The only thing I was satisfied was that our servers were very helpful!

I've been coming here for 15 years and always get the Golden Eagle...a frozen margarita style drink that knocks your socks off. Tonight the bar staff, whom I've never seen before, decided to add something extra to the mix and it was awful. These drinks are $12 each...I would not have ordered this staple if I had know they altered the historically successful recipe. Next time, maybe the bartender should inform the paying patrons or the change or at least let them try a sample before they buy it. Oh well..maybe they'll learn from the patrons complaints!

The food was good. The service was good as well even though they were short on staff considering it was the day after thanksgiving. The sole that I ordered was extremely buttery but the potatoes on the plate were really tasty. My kale salad was decent... Could have have used a little less dressing.

We came by here on July 5th in the evening around 8pm. It was insanely busy, as there was a wedding next door in their convention room. The bar was jammed. We were thinking of ordering some drinks and appetizers but they were so busy we weren't even noticed. We asked a waiter if we could order some items and bring them outside. She instructed us to go out in the patio area as there supposedly were 2 servers. We did and glanced around and all tables, benches, chairs, ledge areas were taken. We just stood there looking at the menu and was seeing if anyone would leave but seemed like ppl had been sitting there for awhile and were going to stay for the rest of the night. No one ever came by. I was going to ask if they had collapsible tables or even a couple of c hairs they coudl bring out and we could just sit there....but my man wasn't interested anymore as it was insanely busy. The menu had insanely overpriced items. $9 for a hot chocolate??? Some entrees were $50. A very small, basic cheese plate for $20. Highly overpriced. I guess you're paying for the view. If that's the case i'd have to try it another time when it's not the busiest weekend of the year. sigh. And after reading some of the reviews, it's prob better to eat in an upscale location in the bay area. This restaurant is located right at the beach and it is a private beach so unless you are a hyatt guest or a restaurant patron i guess there is no access. In the end after watching the 2nd nite of fireworks here, we ended up going to the hyatt hotel a couple of blocks away to their pub to eat. The prices were slightly cheaper, but still quite overpriced.

Food was good - really good. Enjoyed my pork chop and the smoked trout - with real smoke! - was nice. Somellier was a bit arrogant for me, apparently the $35!! corkage fee doesn't buy you politeness. Still the food was good and I would eat here again. Best meal I had in Tahoe.

Several years ago I would've given this restaurant 5 stars, hands down. However recently, with some menu changes, I'd say it's more worthy of 4 stars. The Lone Eagle is definitely a great upscale restaurant to enjoy a fancy american dinner. It's definitely a bit on the pricey side, but with a lakefront view, professional staff, and a nice cozy ambiance, it's arguably worth it. I used to be a fan of their Prime Rib back when they had it on the menu. It was, in my opinion, the BEST prime rib I have ever had. However, for some absurd reason the last time I came a few months ago, they decided to remove it from their menu! Because of this, I was forced to try something new. Their rib-eye steak is alright, it's definitely pretty good, but not amazing. They have a great wine selection, all on an iPad to help you get more information about each wine and see what pairs well with it (great touch). Overall the food that they have is good but not as good as it used to be. Desert is definitely a must have here as well. The staff is also friendly and attentive. Overall, I'd say it's a great place to enjoy yourself if you're willing to spend a bit. Make sure you take a walk on the lakefront to enjoy the amazing views!

We really enjoyed our dinner here last night. It was our anniversary and they were super welcoming and accommodated us at a window table. The ambience is not intimate but we definitely could hold a conversation. Staff was great - everyone was helpful and very pleasant. Food was good to meh - it started out great - but when our entrees arrived with our sides we were disappointed. Everything was over salted. The issue was whoever finished the plates threw on a heavy handed layer of kosher salt. We could see the salt layer! Our server came over and asked about our meal - I kind of think she knew there may be issues... We told her and she offered to fix the issue. But honestly unless they prepared another full entree for each of us ... There was no fix. We just declined and scraped the top off our potatoes, steak, salmon and carrots. The under layers were very good! But one shouldn't have to do that when paying $45 for a steak.... Also - notably my fish was tasty but barely warm. Which was fine but not quite right. Redeeming ending - epic baked Alaska! Comped - and very good! One of the best desserts I have ever had. Our server was more than kind and very professional - she also made our evening very lovely despite the over salted main course.

The view is worth it alone, sit outside behind the glass and it blocks the cool air but you still get the breathtaking view. The water, the boats with the sunset in the distance... Beautiful! Make a reservation...Brianna and Kyle were fabulous. Anything we needed we got efficiently, they talked to us, joked with us and answered questions. Added further quality to the meal. The lamb chops were great! Cooked perfectly and so juicy and tender. Good amount of meat on the bone too. The asparagus was cooked enough to give flavor but not mushy. The creamed spinach was made with cauliflower for cream and it was a nice healthy alternative. The truffle fries were fabulous and I'm not a fries person. The table also got the pork chips and one of the steaks... Everyone thoroughly enjoyed. The kids pizza was even a big hit as made well with quality ingredients. For dessert everyone shared a Baked Tahoe. Besides the price of the meal being quite high, this is the only other reason four instead of five stars. It said brownie and ice cream and while it was really good it was more like a soft thin chocolate cookie than brownie. The marshmallow on the outside though was great and the ice cream had toffee bits in it. Overall great ambiance and a great experience.

Wow. Definitely worth the expense for a special occasion or work dinner. The atmosphere, food, and experience is fantastic. Start at the bar/lounge area, and depending on the season, sit by the fire or look out onto the lake. I could have even ended my night there and would have been extremely happy. The experience in the dining room is even better. Drink menus on an iPad? Strange, but intriguing. There's a sommelier who will help you determine what glass of wine will pair well with the different foods. Save room for the dessert and get the Baked Tahoe if they have it. I love that they have regular as well as not so regular cuts of meat on their menu. Even the salads have a bit of twist to them that makes it that much more delicious.

How in the world do you decide how many stars to give a place? This place is a very good place, it has an awesome, unprecedented view of Lake Tahoe, has a great fire place, and a really nice (but expensive) wine list. Is this enough for five stars? The question is worth consideration. I was in a party of four, and we had a 5:30 reservation. We had viewed the website and we knew, in advance, that they charged a $35.00, per bottle, corkage fee. As you'd expect this did not make me happy, as I think great wine is part of the meal, and although I think restaurants do need to make some money, isn't there a reasonable rate out there. Maybe restaurants can adopt new attitudes and lower their prices on the wine, as some lists are just too much. This list, though, had some very nice wines at reasonable prices, and some were ridiculous. Enough of my wine rant. We brought a bottle of 2002 Rubicon and a 2007 Ravenswood Icon. We enjoyed both, shared with our sommelier, and loved them both. The sommelier, Anthony, decanted the Rubicon, and we couldn't have been happier with the taste. As already mentioned this is a great restaurant, and we were lucky enough to score a window seat. It was a cloudy afternoon, which meant that the setting sun was not a problem and we got to enjoy an unobstructed view of the lake. How was the service? It was great. Our server, Jana, and our busser did a fantastic job. We never wanted for water, and our food was served in a timely and efficient fashion. The food was perfect. We all started with a different first course, and mine was the French Onion Soup. Prior to the soup arriving I had already enjoyed bread and truffle butter. I've never had truffle butter before, and so I suffered through two servings of it. Nobody else at our table got any, but I enjoyed it, and it tasted great with the soup. My wife had the yellow split pea soup and she enjoyed it. My cousin had a mixed green salad and her husband had the iceberg wedge served with blue cheese dressing. He asked for extra Point Reyes Blue Cheese, and I was able to taste several bites of it as well. We were off to a good start. Next came the main courses. I had the fillet, and I requested the blue cheese mashed potatoes. It was very good, but my only complaint There would be that the portion of meat was about half the size of one Costco fillet. The sauce was very good and the asparagus was nicely cooked. My wife had a fish dish that she liked. My cousin had lamb and her husband had a New York steak. Again, I was coerced into trying his steak, and it was very good. For folks into volume, it was about two-thirds bigger than my steak, and it tasted fantastic. We skipped the desert, as we were a bit full. So, to conclude, great service, very good food, expensive corkage, great wine attention, and a great location for a restaurant. I'll be back, as this is about my tenth visit. What could have made it a five-star? I'd say it would need to work on their wine issues, and I would suggest that they work on creating an intimate eating experience. Try to limit the crowds a bit, improve the dress code, etc. Why do people go to great places in a baseball cap. I'm confused. Enjoy.

I love this place. Let me count the ways.... Ambiance - Amazing. Has the feel of an upscale lodge from back in the day. You decend a huge staircase into the restaurant. There is a large masculine bar with leather and wood furniture. The dining room has a huge stone fireplace in the center. There is a patio that is lake front. On the patio, you are steps from the beach and the shores of Lake Tahoe. To the left of the outdoor patio is a second bar with live music. Amazing. Service - Perfection. From the hostess who greeted us and sat us early, to the buser who dropped bread and sparkling water to our server - they were each at the top of their game. Food - OMG - I started with a martini (that's a food group to me). It was made just how I ordered it. I know that seems logical but so often they just aren't. Anyways, it was the perfect start. I had a sald (so good with strawberries and pine nuts) and the ribeye and creamed spinach. I HAD EVERY BITE. The steak was perfection and served with a huge roasted elephant roasted garlic. The right touch - After dinner the buser put the ribeye bone in a box so I could take it home to my dog. When he dropped it back off at the table he shared a short story about his dog. Nice touch. That's customer service. Actually, maybe it's not customer service at all. It transcends customer service - it's making a guest feel welcomed. Customer service is something a company "does". Making someone feel welcomed is far beyond that. This was my second time at Lone Eagle. I was here a few years ago for a birthday party and had the salmon. Very good. Lone Eagle. I love you. Never change! :)

This was one of the priciest places right next to ski beach and is part of the Hyatt. PROs -Being from California, i was excited that they had foie gras, being that it is banned in California. -Food was very pricy but they did have some interesting items on the menu. Good food. -Waiters and Waitresses very polite and able to recommend great items -Views of the lake are amazing, i was lucky enough to have a window seat CONs -The silverware and glass ware for drinks, cocktails, wine etc was almost always dirty- Shame on you for being an upper class/scale restaurant -Felt the food was a bit overpriced for what they offered on some of the plates

Excellent location and views. Great ambiance. The wine list is outstanding. Aside from an excellent beet salad the food was bland and terribly overpriced. Au gratin and spinach sides tasted as though they came out of the freezer. I ordered the steak special that was covered with an herb butter that actual gave the steak a bitter taste.

My sister and I were one of the last groups to be seated late Sunday night. It had been about 25 degrees outside when we walked from our rooms to the Grille, and were quite cold. I made the mistake of commenting on how our sandaled toes were numb from the walk, and the host said he'd give us the warmest seat in the house. This table proved to be about two feet out from a massive stone fireplace roaring with flames. After about a minute, we were both rather uncomfortably hot, but it was late and we just rolled with it. I loved the log and stone work that surrounded us. The whole restaurant was amazingly beautiful. The lodge atmosphere of the hotel carried over and was well executed. Our waitress helped me to decide on an appetizer, and I was glad she did. I am so happy I went with the grilled shrimp over the "sweet bread" (no duck gullet for me!) I ordered the buffalo steak, my sister the regular beef steak. We were both very satisfied with the meat and the accompanying sides. Dessert was a chocolate molten lava cake of deliciousness and chocolate ice cream. A great mix. Would come back a second time if we happened to be in the area again, there were too many good looking things on the menu and not enough time or belly space to eat them all.

Literally the best tasting food I may have ever eaten. Price is a little outrageous but if you can swing it, definitely stop here and eat! Everything was good, no complaints, service was fast efficient and friendly. And on a sunny day the patio facing the Lake has incredible views!

Also came here for Easter brunch. $70 per adult, $35 kids. Kinda pricey again. endless mimosa was made with cava, pretty cheap but hey effective and yummy. not sure i will be back for dinner or brunch. too expensive and sometimes not so satisfying (dinner).

We were looking for a cozy, late night dinner place after a long day in the mountains. Admittedly, we were not dressed for fine dining, but the hostess made us feel right at home. Daniella, whose reputation precedes us on these pages, took great care of us all night. We found the appetizers appealing (fettuccine, himachi), the entrees good (but pricey), and the drinks to die for (round of sangria was fabulous). Lemon tart to finish was perfect. Luke, the live entertainer, the fireplace, and grand ambiance of the windowed great room, completed the night. overall, pricey, but worth the experience.

Great view and very good food. Must try the BBQ pulled pork sandwich. They slow cook the pork for 10 hours and then blend in home made BBQ sauce. Very large sandwich and good to share. Good beer selection and wine by the glass. Bar prices are high however with a glass of tap beer~$13.

I want to like this restaurant a bit more than I do- but sadly I think it underperforms the exceptionally high prices. I have eaten here on multiple occasions with my wife and friends, and we have ordered a great number of entrees- from the crab-stuffed sole to the filet mignon to the salmon, ahi and more. Nothing has been bad, but I can't say that I have had anything that I felt met the challenge of the price tag. While the portions are adequately sized, the entrees have simply lacked the exceptional execution I was hoping for from a 'marquee' restaurant with such high prices. The French Onion soup and the desserts are a hit, by the way! I keep going back because of the golden real estate, and the fact that I enjoy walking to dinner from the Hyatt instead of driving. As such, I keep hoping the next entree will knock my socks off- but alas I always leave the meal satisfied, but not to the extent I would have hoped for the $$$$ I have just spent. I won't go so far as to say that I won't return- because nothing has ever been bad, however I will research the area and branch out to other local options on my next visit to N. Lake Tahoe. Based on how that goes- we'll re-assess the Lone Eagle Grill's future in my N. Tahoe rotation...

Always a must stop place no matter the time of year. Great food and environment. Amazing lake restaurant and views. Enjoy the summer time dock and drinks, or stop in to warm up next to the massive fire place after a winter ski day for drinks at the lounge and bar.

If I could give this place 10 stars I would I have eaten at hundreds of amazing places around the world however this is truly in a class of its own. The game is not gamey and the service is spot on. The foie gras was the best I have had anywhere. I would say you must try the elk and the roast corn don't pass up on a chance to eat hear!

Great location (1 extra star for that), food is OK but way overpriced, service sucks. Waited 15 minutes for someone to come to the table to take our food and drink order. Food showed up 10 minutes later, then I waited another 10 minutes for A-1 sauce and 15 minutes for a waitress to even ask if everything was OK so we could get our check. Definitely recommend eating somewhere else for lunch, as $20 for a sandwich and $14 for a glass of wine is outrageous.

Super classy. I am a classy dude, but this place makes me feel like a hobo. Hit the patio with a cocktail and you will feel like Frank Sinatra. Service was very good. You can also buy a pack of S'more making stuff from the hotel and roast marshmallows on their patio fire place.

Fine dining meets lodge cozy. Notice I said fine dining, not creative or high-end. A classic lodge setting placed right on the beach. Part of the Hyatt in Incline Village. Stone fire places inside and a fire pit outside on the deck looking across the beach to Lake Tahoe. The setting can't be beat. However, window seats are only useful at lunch. After dark they are nothing but big black pains of glass with a view of a reflection of the dining room. The lake is completely dark so you can't see out at all. The food is a modern take on classic steakhouse fare. Creamed spinach with puréed cauliflower instead of cream, Bison tenderloin, Elk strip loin or traditional beef filet mignon, butter lettuce salad with blue cheese, beet salad, etc. All executed well but certainly not imaginative or what I would consider fine dinning. As for price, not completely out of line but a bit steep for the food offered. Entrees $45-$55, salads and appetizers $12-$18 and sides in the $10-$12 range. As for the wine markup, I really can't say. I refuse to even look at a wine list presented to me on a computer tablet. How lazy! Organize your cellar on a computer, present it on quality bond paper. Which brings us to the great disappointment with Lone Eagle Grill. The corkage fee. A corkage is designed to cover the cost of the service. Not, I repeat, not replace a profit center. There is cost in the labor to pour wine brought into your restaurant, to wash and stock the glass ware and to cover the inevitable breakage. It is not to boost profits. That is done by garnering the support of patrons who bring their own wine and their "expert" recommendations to friends and acquaintances. A $10 corkage is good, $12 acceptable and $14 starting to push the limit. $20 for a corkage fee is ridiculous (and yes I realize many restaurants are charging this) but the $35 charged at Lone Eagle is just plain gouging. If you can't make a decent profit based on food sales, cocktail and legitimate wine sales without an absurd corkage fee, you need new management, a new menu or both. The Traveling Foodies

Suuuper pricey but atmosphere can't be beat, great (realllllly great) service and friendly staff. Excellent views, and the kitchen is super accommodating to vegetarians. We ordered several dishes altered without meat with no problem. Best part? If you catch a fish with Fin Addicts (a local fishing boat service) you can bring it to the restaurant for them to prepare it for you. How can that possibly be beat? Only four stars because it's expensive, but honestly with the service and accommodating kitchen, it can't be beat. Treat yourself.

My visit to Lake Tahoe was on 7/27-30/ 11 the lone eagle grille is located on the grand hyatt property in lake tahoe , the atmosphere is lovely, locate by the beach/lake the view is beatiful . you have the snow covered mountains in july by the clear water of the lake. the place overall has a great log cabin feel to it, nice bar & lounge area you can sit & enjoy drinks while waiting or get food if you choose too . during my stay we made reservations here 2 different days, during the week no waiting to get in , come friday & the weekends reservation is neccesary. the first night we ate here was during the week on wednesday , this night we sat outside over looking the lake very lovely view. we had reservations no problem getting in. the menu is not very large but there is plenty to choose from. the way its set up u can go by choosing to go w the 3 course meal, we choose this option & ordered a bottle of red wine for our meal. they start u off w a hot bread basket & butter, not bad but just be careful not to fill up on bread. i started w the Heirloom Tomatoes Caprese with Burrata Cheese and Basil ...all i have to say is WHOA !! most places u get mozzarella in a round shape or so , this thing was so fesh it looked like goop ...of course in a good way delicious melts in your mouth & the tomatoes are totally fresh. he went w the Seared Ahi Tuna, Crispy Shrimp Dumpling, Micro Greens, Teriyaki and Wasabi Drizzles , so fresh & very tasty. moving onto the next course i had the mixed green salad , he said the ceaser both pretty good ..the caeser has anchovies not my favorite but he enjoyed it. next my main course was the Sautéed Chicken, Mascarpone Polenta, Asparagus, Morel Cream ... this was very good & a nice size . he went w the Durham Ranch All Natural" New York Steak Au Poivre, Marble Potatoes, Caramelized Pearl Onions and Sautéed Spinach , great piece of meat & very delicious as well. great meal but no room for dessert. on our second night , we had reservations as well but had to wait this time so we had drinks by the lounge area. they have a drink called golden eagle , this was recomended by one of the girls from the beach snack bar during our stay - a large slushy drink with plenty of liquor & all u really need is one because it gets u nice , this is their signature drink & a must try since one glass is all u need while waiting & it gives u a decent buzz. it was time to be seated we were seated inside this time but we were right by the window so we still enjoyed a great view. we decide to go w a bottle of white wine this time & skipped the 3 course because it was just too filling the first time. i couldnt help it & had the mozzarella again since it was so good , we both did. for my main course i had the Sautéed Shrimp and Linguine with Tomatoes, Garlic, Lemon and Basil ...this was delicious very tasty. he had the porter house steak special , the steak was great it came w mashed potatoes that were mixed w gorgonzola cheese , i was not too crazy about the potaoes but that just because i dont like that cheese he loved it. overall we had a great time & the food was delicious , nice decor for the lounge & restaurant , great views , good service , my only complaint too many people taking care of u ... hard to keep track when u want to ask for something but not a bad thing. i will definately recommend this if you are staying in the area just be aware that this luxury has it price, the food & wine are good but prices are pretty expensive.

Ok, how does this restaurant not have better reviews? First off, the Hyatt Lodge that this restaurant is absolutely amazing - sooo beautiful and of course fancy! I've only been to Lone Eagle Grille a couple of times because I am not from the area, but both times we've went I was very happy with the food. The first time we went was for their breakfast buffet - there is a huge array of food to eat and it's all fresh and delicious. The second time was for dinner - they had a seafood and dessert buffet out, but we didn't try it. We went off their menu which had a large selection to choose from and again, the food was delicious. The service was good too. The lady we had was very very nice. We also had a guy that did part of our wait service - he was nice, but he was hard to understand, and he seemed like he had difficulty understanding us as well. Anyway, every time I go to Tahoe to visit my friends, I am more than happy to go to Lone Eagle for some good eats!

The view was great. The food was no so great. My husband's halibut was under the heat lamps too long and my pork loin was drrrryyyyyyyy. They were kind enough to take my husband's entree off the bill. The BIG disappointment thought was seating. First of all, it was our 10th wedding anniversary so we were hoping to have a quiet table to chat and whatnot. I don't think there was a quiet table in the house so we definetely should have chosen a different restaurant in the first place. The first table was inside, right next to the fireplace (on one of the hottest days of the year!!) and on an angle to the other table in the row. It seemed to be an extra table the squeezed in to accomodate the volume of customers. Being on an angle, my husband were about 2 feet out in to the 'lane of traffic' and within 5 minutes of sitting there I was nearly elbowed in the head 2-3 times. We asked to be moved elsewhere and we quickly accomodated. The second table for two was right between two parties of 8 or so and they all KNEW EACHOTHER! They were visiting eachother's tables, standing there drinking next to us and talking loudly about their nannies and plastic surgery. Not the restaurant's fault by any means but so very unpleasant and disappointing. So, lesson learned. If you want 'quiet' and 'intimate' this is not for you. If you want to get your expensive, post-beach booze on while enjoying some great Tahoe vistas, Lone Eagle is the place.

The food is pretty good and it is certainly the best thing around unless you go all to way to the Ritz @ Northstar. That said, I have been a copule of times and found the service to be average and the food is good, but not great. I would recommend it more as a place to go for apps and drinks than a full dinner. . . . that said, there is nowhere close to recomend going to instead. If you are looking for the closest thing to a high end experience near Stateline, then this is your place. If you can hold off, that would probably be better.

As far as overall Lake Tahoe food goes, Lone Eagle is easily in the 4 star range. Was in Tahoe a few weeks ago and wanted to go to a nice place for dinner with family and friends. The previous night we went to river grill in tahoe city, so we decided on the Lone Eagle Grill. Came into the restaurant and was really impressed with the overall atmosphere and decor. Very tavernous feel which I really liked and also a great view of the lake. Sat down and ordered a bunch of stuff First thing that came to the table was bread. It was all good, but the clear favorite was the delicious pretzel bread. Started with ahi and jumbo prawns. Both dishes were solid, especially for a restaurant that isn't remotely near the ocean. Good start. For soup, I ordered the butternut squash soup with pancetta. Really good, perfect winter dish. Braised short ribs with mashed potatoes and vegetables. Overall a pretty solid dish, nothing amazing, but a good representation of short ribs. Nextime I go though, I definitely need to try the lamb shank. I also had a bite of their special which was a new york strip. Really good flavor and a real nice steak. Dessert was also a highlight. Mud Pie- Pretty standard flavors, nothing amazing, but it tasted good. Cheesecake- I don't recall the actual flavor, but texturally it was very light and fluffy and also tasted good. Pecan Caramel Tart with dulce de leche ice cream- This was easily the best dessert and one of the best I've ever had. A clear table favorite. Overall, I really liked Iron Eagle. It is often hard to find great food in Tahoe, but if your looking for a higher end meal, I highly recommend this place. Only reason why I don't give it 5 stars is for the fact that the food wasn't mindblowing, service was just okay and it was a little pricey for what you get. But that's understandable because it's inside a Hotel.

I've been to Tahoe so many times for so many years and never knew this place existed, but its my new favorite spot. Beautiful restaurant right on the lake. Very spacious and rustic with high ceiling and a large fireplace. It couldnt get any better. Then they pull out a full vegetarian menu and I was set. Each dish was just at delicious with fresh veggies and actually fairly inventive. The desserts were also fantastic. The mud pie had three layers of ice cream on a cookie crust, cheesecake with huckleberry compote, and an almond walnut and caramel tart. just perfect. Server was very awkward though "keep smiling..."

My experience at the Lone Eagle Grille was bad. So bad that it inspired me to JOIN Yelp just so I could save Yelpers like you from wasting your hard-earned dollars at this place. We have recently become part-time residents of Incline Village so we were very excited about our first visit to the restaurant on the day after Labor Day, September 7, 2010. When we entered the restaurant, we were told that it would be a 15 minute wait. We walked outside and enjoyed the view from the bar patio. (BTW, this review does NOT reflect on the service of the Lone Eagle's bar. It looks like a great place to chill after a day on the Lake. Just leave when it is time to eat or stick to the apps. Within a reasonable amount of time, we were seated in the dining room. In spite of being tired, I was in a good mood (but not for long.) When we were seated, I noticed a very large party, all family members, at a nearby table. Little did I know but our dining experience would be linked to them. Our waitress greeted us and eventually took our orders. We ordered wine by the glass. The first weird experience was that the waitress brought the wine in a mini-carafe and to poured it into the glass at the table. Where did this stupid idea originate from? The waitress, who now seemed a bit rushed, spilled some of the wine on our tablecloth. (Note to management: Lose the wine to carafe to glass delivery method. It's lame. The bread arrived and my wife, who loves bread, commented on the freshness of the bread. So far, so good. We waited for our appetizers, a salad and a soup. We waited and waited and waited. After 35 minutes, I asked the waitress where our appetizers were? She didn't really apologize but just took off for the kitchen. At this point, I realized that she was also in also handling the family's table by herself and obviously, was in no mood to deal with us. The soup and salad arrived, again no apology for the delay. And, again, the food was quite good. I tried no to expect the worst but, of course, it happened. Our dinner courses refused to appear. According to my wife, it was at least another 35-40 minutes before they showed, after I asked about our missing entrees. At this point, I was discouraged and was seriously considering paying for what we ate and leaving the restaurant. Since we eaten so much bread waiting for the rest of the meal, the entrees sounded like an afterthought. Lo and behold, the main dishes arrived. When I asked the waitress why it took so long, she said that "we had a 35 minute meal ticket." Not understanding the jargon, I told her that we waited too long for our meal. She then rather rudely told me that "those people" (the large family seated nearby) "needed to be taken care of first. I told her that I did not care about them. She seemed shock and, once again, offered no apology. My wife (everyone should have a wife) talked me into not bolting the restaurant. Unfortunately, my chicken dish was terrible. The chicken was dry and there was little or no sauce as promised in the menu. I pushed the plate to the side of me, nearly uneaten. Fortunately, my wife's end-cut of prime rib was quite good so she shared it with me. At this point, a restaurant manager showed up, obviously tipped off that were not happy. He did a good job of listening to my tale of woe. he apologized for the chicken and offered to serve me another dish. I declined and told him that I was more upset by the long wait\ and the attitude of the waitress. When we received our bill, the chicken dish had been removed. We quickly paid, including a 10% tip, and left. Some final observations: The restaurant appears to have a huge staff so I do not think our poor service was totally due to a lack of people who could have provided us with a better experience. This place is pricey! I mean, $45 for a bowl of pasta. I would happily pay that at Flour & Water but not at the Lone Eagle Grille. All in all, the food was not that bad. The kitchen was probably to blame because they could not keep up with the demand. Ultimately, it's the front line service people who need to buffer the customer from the day-to-day challenges of operating a restaurant. If we had only been warned that our meals would be coming out late and offered an app, our experience might have been different. Anecdotally, we have heard from a number of locals the the Grill has good food but lousy service. Too bad. This needs to be fixed or else the Lone Eagle Grille will become the Lone Diner Grille.

For the price we paid for dinner, this was nothing special. The chicken was dry. The view was nice, but only before sunset. 2 stars for dinner. The breakfast, however, was FABULOUS. The eggs Benedict was perfection. 5 stars for breakfast.

My review is for the Christmas Brunch 2010. I read many bad reviews for this place that it honestly had me worried. Must have been a totally different staff working the day we went in. They were ALL super friendly.. they seemed super busy but were extremely courteous and helpful. The selection was very good. I think we may have shown up a little later so many of the more breakfasty types of foods were gone but we had our fill of shrimp , crab legs, boar, duck, WINE!, oysters, clams, FRIED CHICKEN and WAFFLES!! they were ethnic up in that Beeeezaaatch that day!!, no tacos though :(. My mother-in-law in all of her glory forgot how to work a simple camera that was out of batteries and one of the managers was kind enough to run to the main hotel and buy her some batteries.. now THAT!!! is Mutthhha Efffin Service!!! the day was gorgeous ! the food was great and the service was top notch. I will just go on a limb here and assume that their holiday brunches are the best times to go for the best service .. sure it's pricey but the food is Amazing.. 65 pop a person is not so bad when it's all you can eat Champagne Brunch.. oh man did we get our fill. Needless to say. I'm a fan and will not hesitate going back for a holiday brunch.. I will highly advise against jumping or side stepping into lake tahoe.. that water is freezing cold!..

Boated in from the south shore with friends, looking forward to a wonderful brunch with great views. Well... we got the views. Gone is the fabulous buffet brunch with a wide variety of well prepared foods. It's been replaced by a brunch menu with 6 items or so on it. And I do mean "a" menu as only 1 was available to share at our table of 4. The descriptions sounded good, but were rather "meh". The biscuits with elk sausage gravy and scrambled eggs arrived with the gravy congealed on the top. The breakfast burritos were served without any salsa or other sauce. The omelettes were OK, but OK is what you expect at Denny's, not at the Hyatt. Both of our waiters were pleasantly friendly, without going over the top. So the service and the view are why this isn't a 1-star review.

Love this place--amazing views of the lake and the most delicious cocktails :) I highly recommend the Berry Bubbling--so good!

The Lone Eagle Grill is nicely decorated in typical Tahoe style, with large wooden tables, high ceilings and of course a great fireplace. I had several dinners here and the seafood as well as the hearty meat dishes came out fantastic. The price/quality ratio at this place is justified and I always received great service from knowledgeable and friendly staff. The wine list is extensive and has something for everybody's wallet. However I wouldn't pick this place for a romantic or quiet dinner. The dining hall is large and fairly noisy (especially later in the evening), which does not necessarily contribute to a conversational dinner. At my last visit we were seated right in front of the open style kitchen, which turned into a very warm dinner situation since the grill was right behind us. My tip: If you want to enjoy a quiet dinner, come early in the evening and reserve a table lakeside. The sunsets are fantastic over the lake, which makes for a great date spot.

I can tell many of you writing bad reviews about the Lone Eagle are just a bunch of snobs with high egos and too much money. Learn how to sit back, relax, and enjoy the setting taking place around you. Yes, the service may not compare to San Fran or New York, but you're in Tahoe Bitch, get over it. Welcome to a lifestyle where people do not care the way they present themselves and all they really want to do is party and shred pow. Just be happy that locals put on a nice enough act to deal with severely rude customers. And how the hell do you give a place one star for giving you too much service!?!?? I'm from San Fran and respect Tahoe in every aspect. I understand the struggle it takes to run a successful business in such a seasonal location. Lone Eagle may be pricey, but look at the size of this place. The cost of running a restaurant of this caliber on top of its location has to be insane. Some of you need to mellow out and appreciate that a place like this even exists, and you are fortunate enough to enjoy such a beautiful meal. There are a lot better things to complain about and Lone Eagle, you have never done me wrong! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

This horribly crappy frustrating rip off of a place will not get my business again, except to drink and look at the views. We didn't start out on a good foot when we found out that the Lone Eagle Grille doesn't do corkage, as we had brought a really good bottle of wine to have with our dinner. What kind of upscale restaurant doesn't offer corkage? Everyone apologized to us about this fact including the sommalier, but sheesh, this is just a bad policy. Of course, at that point, I stubbornly refused to order any wine. The wine list is pretty good, but the markup is x 2.5 when most fine dining restaurants markup wine x 1.75 or x 2. Killin me. Now, I usually don't expect too much from a small town American hotel restaurant, but for some reason this experience really got under my skin. Unfortunately, we were seated directly in front of a gas fireplace. At first I thought this could be a cozy place to sit, but the damn thing made a VERY loud hissing ambient noise that instead of creating a relaxed feeling created stress. Eventually, after asking, they turned the "infernal" thing down and we could finally hear normally. The food: This restaurant thinks it's a 4 star place, when in fact if reviewed by the San Francisco Chronicle (where I'm from) it would only get 1.5 stars for the food. It sucked. As an example of the crap posing as nectar-of-the-gods, the kitchen uses store bought croutons on the $12.00 cesar salad, just like you would get at the Sizzler salad bar. Give me a f***ing break. While I'm venting, when you call something a "Tasting Menu", it is supposed to be an assortment of smaller plates - the best representation of dishes the chef has to offer. If this is a best the chef has to offer, he should be cooking at a local cafe and not an expensive fine dining establishment. As you have probably assumed, I ordered the $55.00 "Tasting menu" and my GF ordered a $45.00 entree from the regular menu. The entree prices range from $30.00-40.00+, so, in my view if you're going to charge those kind of prices, the food better be worth it. The dishes on the "Tasting Menu" were completely lackluster and poorly executed. I started with some kind of lobster salad that had a horrible presentation. It would have been tolerable from a local fish shack for $6.00, but come on, what a complete sham. My second course was salmon. Again, it was poorly presented and was unremarkable. Any home cook could have made this. My entree was a rack of lamb over mashed potatoes and some kind of greens. The coating on the lamb chops was mushy and strange tasting at first. Despite it growing on me a little, it was still average. Sadly, the mashed potatoes were overmashed and starchy and pretty inedible. The dish just didn't work and was also embarassing. My GF had the Buffalo Tenderloin and Foie Gras, Asparagus, Gorgonzola Sun-Dried Cranberry Risotto Cake, Port Wine Demi-Glace which she liked very much but was very overpriced for $45.00. I also had a sad dessert, as part of the "Tasting Menu" - a little hazlenut cake with some kind of cranberry ganache and a scoop of chocolate pate. It was not even good enough to finish. The staff: The wait staff was very nice. When we complained about the meal, the restaurant manager came to the table to apologize and comp my meal. She also wanted to know specifically what our complaints were so she could tell the chef. I did not hold back. I appreciated that they cared about our experience and comped my meal. The decor: The restaurant is beautiful, lots of wood beams and comfortable seating. I can imagine it's a great place to have a drink during the day when you can see the gorgeous lake view, but we were there at night. Oh well. Note to chef: The "Tasting Menu" was more like a prix fix menu of mediocrity and NOT something you should be proud of calling your best. Go to Europe or NYC and apprentice yourself at a great restaurant for a "real" chef. Note to the owners/managers: If you're going to have a fine dining establishment, why not have great food to match the high prices? Wouldn't you rather have happy return customers rather than offending foodies like me? Eventually your business will be affected by poor Yelp reviews and poor word of mouth. I was offended by the pretense of your restaurant masquerading as fine dining. I have given one star for the food (my GF liked her dish) and one star for the fact that the management cared enough to comp my meal. Yelp readers, if you are used to fine dining in big cities like Paris, NYC or San Francisco, you will not be happy with the crappy over-priced food at the Lone Eagle Grille. The food snob in me thinks that the majority of the people who might like this place have never been to a really great restaurant in a metropolitan city in the US or Europe. ONLY GO FOR THE DRINKS AND THE VIEW DURING THE DAY. DO NOT EAT HERE. I WOULD RATHER THROW MY MONEY AWAY IN THE SLOT MACHINES AT THE HYATT.

We celebrated my husbands 40th Birthday dinner at the Lone Eagle Grille with 12 guests last weekend. We have been at the Lone Eagle Grill numerous times and yes, the food is good but pricey. One friend brought 2 bottles of wine as a present and when we got our bill they charged us a $35 corkage fee per bottle - $70 total!!! When we talked to the manager about it they said this is Hyatt Nationwide average for a corkage fee and they could not do anything about it. I'm very disappointed - this is taking overpriced to another level. Next time we are in Incline we'll check out other places. I heard Le Bistro (right around the corner) is great and more reasonable.

A truly incredible variety of high quality brunch items in an all-you-can eat buffet. Winners: - Eggs benedict. - Chocolate decadence looking dessert cake - Prime rib and pork tenderloin from the carving station. Losers: - Cost: $40 per person plus tax and tip. - That tax and tip will cover service that includes more champagne than you could ever want (yep it's included) but less water. Twice I got up and went to the bar to get water for myself and other people. They should just leave a pitcher if they can't get this together.

Everyone brags about the view, and yes they should because it great and fascinating at sunset. The staff are very friendly and on top of everything. From our table looking out to the lake we all were able to watch a real bear walking on the beach shore line. It was amazing. The staff says this happens a few times a week. Our food was great and desert. As to the price yes I agree it is very expensive but we enjoyed ourselves and would go back again.

Delicious food, gorgeous atmosphere, wonderful service! On our first day in Tahoe my boyfriend treated me to dinner here. Our reservation was kind of late so we weren't really able to see the beautiful view of the lake, but the interior of the restaurant was gorgeous. I loved the huge stone fireplaces, however the layout of the place was kind of a pain - especially if you're wearing high heels - the only bathroom they have is upstairs from the dinning area. Aside from the layout, the food and service here was wonderful! Our waitress was very friendly and attentive even though there was a big wedding reception going on. My boyfriend stepped away from the table to go scope out the open kitchen when our waitress came out with our dinner, she offered to take our plates back to the kitchen to keep the food warm until he returned. I told her that it was ok and told her what he was doing so she took the time to go and let him know that our dinner was at the table so he would come sit back down. Also, during our meal our waitress came to our table to check on us (more than once might I add) and we asked the waitress to give our compliments to the chef, which she did because a short time later the head Chef actually came out to our table to speak to us. A wonderful treat to top our meal and experience off! =] We ordered: - [Appetizer] A Panko Crusted Portobello Mushroom with Herb Country Cheese, Arugula, and Chipotle Chutney: perfect appetizer for 2! I kind of didn't want to share. It was crunchy, creamy, earthy, savory, and just slightly spicy from the chipotle chutney; the perfect beginning to wake up your taste buds. - *the special* Wild Boar with some kind of sauce with mushrooms and possibly bacon, broccolini, potato dauphinoise, grilled & baked cinnamon vanilla pluot: the wild board was kind of tough but delicious! I wasn't expecting it to be tender, since it was WILD anyways, because I know wild meat is normally more lean and less tender. As for everything else, delicious! The potato dauphinoise was very garlicy (YUM!) with not a whole lot of sauce and the pluot (a cross between a plum and apricot) was to die for, a wonderful accompaniment to the boar. - Mesquite Grilled Buffalo Tenderloin with a Wild Rice and Almond Cake, Grilled Zucchini and Cherry Demi: Very tender and moist but I thought the portion was a tad small for the price. My boyfriend really liked it though. - [Dessert, an extra bonus, compliments of the Chef] chocolate mousse cake, freshly made whip cream, raspberry, mint leaf, with a port wine reduction: I don't know if this was even on the menu but it was DELICIOUS!! I'm not a wine drinker but the mousse with the wine reduction was heavenly! It's a bit pricey, but I would definitely recommend it and come back for a special occasion.

We had the sunset special. Corn chowder was good. Shrimp pasta was very tasty. My husband got the prime rib and thought it was good. Creme brulee was good but we literally each bot a 1/4 cup of it. I'm okay with small portions, but they were ridiculous. Loved the coffee. Overall...I'd go back again if only b/c we could walk there from the Hyatt.

We were here last weekend as part of a birthday celebration getaway with a group of friends. It wasn't crowded and we were seated at a large table with a gorgeous view of the lake at sunset! I started with the onion soup and, being on an onion soup quest to find the best, found theirs to be a little more herb-y than onion-y. (Good, but not $9 good or the best I've had to date.) The others started with Caesar salads and the butternut squash soup with no complaints. For the main entree, I had the salmon. (I know, I know -- it's a steak house, but I had to pace myself with the eating since it was a weekend getaway.) Everyone else ordered the Ahi, Prime Rib, New York steak and Beef Tenderloin. We all ate in silence. You know it's good food, when people don't talk and concentrate only on eating. We didn't test out the desserts because we had birthday cake waiting back in our condo. I'd definitely come back the next time we take a drive up to Tahoe. It's pricey, but worth it.

My wife and I love this place. In winter, nothing beats a cocktail at the fire with a cigar and the spectacular view. In summer, pulling up to the dock and having a drink after a killer wakeboard session is epic. The food in the restaurant can be very good. We had a memorable meal by just 'grazing' the appetizer menu. The only thing that irritates me is closing the bar for the Sunday brunch. We'd go there more often if they had the bar open on Sunday. Plus, the one time I shelled out the big bucks for the brunch I thought it was mediocre at best. Garwoods brunch is better due to the Bloody Mary DIY Bar, and the price.

For my second time here, I brought my wife on a recent trip to Tahoe. The space is absolutely beautiful and relaxing. From the moment you enter, you are surrounded by high wooden beam ceilings and floor to ceiling glass windows which overlook the lake. The decor could be described as lodge modern with wood and leather accents and several large stone fireplaces along with a beautiful bar/lounge area. On this visit, I ordered their signature dish, Buffalo Tenderloin which is also the most expensive at $47. My wife ordered the Beef Tenderloin. Our appetizer was a rosemary grilled shrimp with grilled artichokes. While the shrimp were prepared nicely and tasted good, I cannot say the same for the dried out excuse for grilled artichokes that accompanied them. On to the main course...the most obvious thing that stood out when my entre arrived was the thick, heavy bernaise style sauce which covered what was a beautiful buffalo tenderloin. Alongside the buffalo, as if plastered to my plate was a dense and globby mess of mashed potatoes infused with truffle oil. The consistence could be likend to a fresh batch of spackle. Absolutely terrible as an accompaniement. As were the sorry excuse for brussel sprouts which dotted the landscape. Overcooked and unsightly even in the dimly lit dining room. Certainly, the chef could have come up with a better side dish combination than the one that was served up on this particular evening. I got the sense, my second time around, that the presentation and quality of the food needs a lot of improvement especially for the price. I would give the restaurant three stars based largely on the ambience. Its unfortunate that at a place this nice, the food doesn't live up.

I am not often moved to review much at all, but the Lone Eagle Grill certainly deserves one. We arrived for the renowned Sunday Brunch right at 11am. When the very limited menu arrived, I began to repeat the mantra that would carry me through the experience, "You are paying for the view." Initially, this was to get over the prices on the menu. Now, I truly believe that high prices are only indicative of high prices, and judgement should be reserved until the food has been devoured. But $17 for a bagel with cream cheese and lox? Really? Kaaaaaay. Recalling that a measure of any good breakfast joint is its ability to prepare a classic eggs benedict, that is what I ordered. Also $17. I was sensing a trend. My companion opted for the lobster and goat cheese scramble; $17. I knew I sensed a trend! I also ordered coffee. The first alarm went off when my companion asked for fresh squeezed orange juice. "We only have tropicana," was the response. At that point I suspected I was in for a classic Tahoe experience, but optimism remained as I chanted in my mind, "You are paying for the view." Side note. We, my companion and I, are 1 year locals living in the south shore, and this was our first trip to Lone Eagle. Our favorite greasy spoon mom and pop joints in South Lake both serve fresh squeezed orange juice. Tropicana may have meant luxury in 1973, but not anymore. Now it means cheap hack. But I digress. And the view was nice, do not get me wrong. The sky was blue, air quality was good, and the mountains were majestic, as ordered. However, as I neared the bottom of my coffee cup, and the coldness crept in to each sip (we were seated outside), I began to wonder after a refill. The service was not spectacular by any means, and leaving a cup of coffee sitting empty outside in the morning alpine chill during brunch is a pretty hard slight to overlook. Now, usually I will get up and get my own damn coffee, and not complain, but there was neither pot nor wait staff in sight. After 30 minutes or so, our waitress appeared with breakfast, and nervously noted my empty coffee cup, disappearing quickly to retrieve replenishment. I was all downhill from there. The Lone Eagle is no doubt used to serving the troglodytic octogenarian WASPs who have long inhabited Incline Village and never had taste to begin with, but the amount of salt on the warmed over limp home fries and in the bernaisse sauce was borderline nauseating. Not only that, but the hockey puck textured Thomas english muffin hiding under my poached eggs was enough to chip a tooth on. I mean, come on, either cook for the toothless old money bags or not, but don't mix your metaphors. And again Thomas English Muffins were brand name quality in 1973, but are now your average cheap fare. Wait, I sense a trend... In true Tahoe fashion, the Lone Eagle considers its guests to be tasteless rubes from the valley who need to be stripped of their money using the cheapest ingredients available. This is a trend in Tahoe; you are paying for the view, so stop complaining. Funny thing is, you can go to thousands of places with beautiful views and still get fantastic food. Tahoe, sadly, is not one of those places these days, and the Lone Eagle is a prime example of why.

Our early Sunday evening timing was perfect as we were escorted straight to the perfect window table with a perfect beach/lake view. I'd say if you are going to hit this place at a busy time you should arrange a reservation at a good window seat, because that really sets this place apart. I won't say it's the best steak I've had, but definitely good. Presentation and service were great. A great place for a romantic dinner, absolutely worth a visit!

View was great, Staff was very friendly. Time was so off throughout our whole meal. We ordered drinks within 10 mins, drinks came and never saw our server for 15 mins after. Finally placed our order our first course was everything from broatta cheese to salads that took about 20 mins. Right away came our 2nd course so left our soup cold since it was sitting there . Corn chowder was nothing special. Our entrees then took a long time to even get there. Server only came by once to check up on us. The pricing to service didn't match up at all. For the pricing I would expect much more. I prob won't be back.

Damn, I really wanted to love this place, and I feel bad about giving it 3 stars. Let's start with the good: Amazing location, scenery, and ambiance. You walk down into a cozy setting, and have the option to indulge in a few drinks by the fire prior to sitting. It's literally right on the lake, and outside the window you're met with beautiful majestic scenery and the opportunity to soak up an absolutely mind-blowing Sunset. The bread was delicious, and my lobster bisque soup was pretty good. The Bad: My $50 Buffalo Tenderloin and Truffle Potatoes. I really wanted to love it, but it just didn't live up to my expectations. I went with the chefs recommendation (medium rare or rare) and although it was quite tasty, just didn't seem like it was worthy of the $50 price tag. I wish I went with another option, but I normally love Buffalo, and therefore took the dive. My Girls chicken wasn't too tasty either, and she didn't finish, nor was too impressed. In the end, this place is an awesome spot for any situation. However, I'd recommend going for drinks and an appetizer rather than a full-blown meal. The main courses just didn't live up to the hype, and I can't justify the price tag. Our server Michael was very helpful, courteous and professional, and as much as I'd love to give this place a higher rating, I think there are better places for your actual meal. Make no mistake though - Lone Eagle Grille will be a great experience and a good time for anyone. Just tread carefully with your main course-

We had really bad service and a lousy table on a special date. We were really looking forward to a wonderful meal like we have had in the past but we were disappointed by the whole attitude and ambiance. The food was good... but it is a hefty price tag and should be great. I will wait to return until they clean up their act.

The Lone Eagle is expensive, but most everything in Incline Village is. We sat at the bar, which I highly recommend. By sitting at the bar or in the great room you have the option of ordering from the lounge menu, still pricey, but a significant savings compared to the dining room menu. Get the rolls with truffle butter. The French onion was delicious as well. We loved meeting locals and people watching, and of course, the view. Travis did a great job as our bartender.

The best of the Hyatt property restaurants. Views of the lake r awesome. Very nice wine selection. Menu is eclectic with meat selections including lamb, bison, and elk. Get the baked Tahoe for dessert. You won't b disappointed. It's a bit pricey but worth it.

Only a bar review: Great view of the lake Nice place inside and especially the patio Good and friendly service from everyone from the valet to the bartender Attractive 40 to 50 something women trying not to look their age. The crate paper skin stretched across their bolt-ons gives their age away. The men accompanying the above mentioned women are typical (red nosed, short shorts wearing, Tommy Bahama shirt donning) . I am just glad nobody asked me "Do you know who I am?"

A place like this would seem primed for a five-star rating. Perfect location on Lake Tahoe's North Shore. A gorgeous lodge-like setting. Exceptional service staff. Creative menu. So what happened? French onion soup, that's what. I love French onion soup and eat it every place I can. On a recent visit, the Lone Eagle Grille's version included red wine, darkening the broth, which isn't a problem in itself. My wife thought the wine was Madeira. Whatever. All I know is the soup tasted strongly of tannin, and it didn't work. The wife's lobster bisque was excellent, we really enjoyed our duck confit pizza, and we have been impressed with other dishes on previous visits. But if you can't whip up a tasty bowl of French onion soup, it's gonna cost ya'.

This is what you would expect to find on Lake Tahoe. Big stone fireplace with a roaring fire inside, awesome natural wood everywhere, huge windows looking out on the lake, and best of all: a floating bar on a pier! Seriously, there's nothing not to like about this place except maybe the price tag. That being said, you'll have a good time. The floating bar is too much fun. You're on the water, the sun is out, and the bartenders were really fun. They love their jobs, and it shows. When you do get too much pier action, just head inside and grab a table or sit by the fire. The food selection is great, and the bar menu is extensive. Win.

Fancy drinks and a guitar singer on a Saturday night. What more could a lady want. My husband and I ended up really getting into the singer and tipping him to play us our favorite songs. It was a wonderful evening by the fireside in the lounge area.

My fiance and I were thinking of using this restaurant as a possible site for our wedding reception dinner (small group). We dined here a week ago and it was very, very good. I ordered the NY steak and it was so delicious and flavorful. My fiance had the short rib dinner and his was very good as well. The beet salad to start was pretty tasty but it was a lot and I couldn't finish it. The ceasar salad my fiance had was one of the best he's ever eaten. We also ordered the glazed carrots on the side and those were pretty tasty. For dessert, we had the popular Baked Tahoe which was a very nice presentation but not my favorite for dessert - buck wheat brownie? Wasn't tasty in my opinion. We will be back to try out the rest of the desserts though as they had quite a few interesting options. Of course, since this is a fine dining establishment, it was pretty expensive but the quality of the main courses is what you would expect. You get what you pay for! The decor of the restaurant has a very nice ambiance and the views of the lake are so nice! My fiance actually asked about the wood chairs as he wanted to see if he could buy them! They were pretty cool. P.S. Shawnee, one of the waitresses lives locally in the Tahoe area and she was very friendly and helpful. Our main waitress was not though I can't remember her name.

We celebrated a 30th Wedding Anniversary on Saturday night. There were six of us, and we had a wonderful experience. All of the food was excellent. Our server, Amanda, and the other staff were spot on! They really went out of their way to make sure that we had a great celebration, and the timing and excellence of the service made for a great time. They even had the guitar/singer (Luke) come and sing a special song to our guests who were having the anniversary. They both said that it was one of the most memorable of all... Great place for special times, great location/view and the place meets or exceeds all expectations in every way. Two of us had the NY steak, and we both felt it may have been the best we have ever had...EVER. Perfectly cooked and as tender as a filet. Other choices, including app's and salads were awesome as well. Wine and cocktail service, along with dessert and after-dinner drinks were very well done. Thanks for great night, Lone Eagle Grille!

Had lunch on Saturday 9/7/13. Way over priced the only good thing about this place is the view. We're from the Napa Valley and don't mind paying for a good meal but out of the the six lunches we had, five were awful! The only meal worth mentioning was a salad...

The setting is just what you would want it to be. Wood, high ceilings and wine glasses as tall as you are. We went there for dinner last night (1-26-2013) and had a wonderful time. I will say though, the food didn't blow me away but was still very delicious never-the-less. a very eclectic menu with Bison, bone in pork chop and monk fish. The service is very attentive and that is what you would expect for the prices. A very classy and well rounded restaurant with an exceptional (but way over priced) wine list.

One of the best views.....in the world. Great for drinks and appetizers in the bar. Forget lunch or dinner in dining room. We had one of the worst lunches anywhere....4 of us agreed...unacceptable at high prices. The hamburger not only was completely tasteless...the bun was stale. I called the manager to let him know how dissatisfied we were....he was totally dismissive.

It only gets the second star for it's setting. The staff is decent, but there are too many of them clambering about trying to refill your water or restock your bread basket or ask you how everything is every two and a half minutes. It's too much, and it rubs the wrong way on people who are accustomed to actual good service (NYC has way better quality of service, generally). I never hold the staff responsible, however, because they are tightly controlled my managers who hew to a model of service that is, frankly, a corporatized imitation of what good service actually is. Vegas resort hotels have a similar problem. The food was generally bad and is priced about 45% higher than it ought to be. I had the mesquite buffalo burger and ordered it cooked medium. It was dry and cooked all the way through. No pink=not medium. This is one of the most basic tenets of cooking and one of the easiest things not to screw up when you're a half decent cook. And for $19, I want my burger cooked right and served at the right time. The rosemary/asiago fries were dry and barely warm (which tells me that they sat for a while as other things cooked). What's more is they barely tasted of rosemary or asiago. The final disgrace of the burger was that, unbelievably, they used shredded iceberg lettuce instead of green leaf or boston or bib or any of the innumerable other options one might expect to find on a $19(!!!) burger. Shredded iceberg lettuce is the... Fuck it. If I need to explain why shredded iceberg lettuce is all kinds of wrong on an expensive plate, the rest of my review will make no sense. ---------------------------------- Now, the lodge itself is gorgeous. The space is huge and the roaring stone fireplaces in the seating area are awesome. The staff is nice and they do try very hard to make it a great experience. I'm happy to pay those kinds of prices for a truly unique and delicious experience, but the Lone Eagle Grille really fails in the kitchen and the service plan. I wouldn't be surprised to turn on the TV someday soon and see Gordon Ramsay bellowing degradations at the manager and/or head chef, they richly deserve it.

Our friends came to this ELEGANT restaurant for their Fortieth Anniversary. They were ecstatic with the meal, service, and view! Based on their enthusiastic experience, we began our month long celebration of our 51st Anniversary. We respect this couple and have complete trust in their judgment and opinion. Let me tell you, our experience paralleled theirs. The staff is very professional, warm, and friendly. The hostess, and two servers were so accommodating! Best of all, the New York steaks which we ordered were among the finest that we have ever enjoyed. The salad and bread served with the steak enhanced the experience! Let me tell you about the view. No. You tell me if it is not the best view of Tahoe that you have ever seen. We plan to return to this venue time and time again. Finally, and best of all, we both thought that the price for this meal was very fair.

PICTURE PERFECT! What can you say about a place that has a huge bay window that frames Lake Tahoe? This place truly has a picture perfect view for sure! As far a the rest of the newly renovated decor... well I'm not a fan of the decor as a whole, but it still has an incredible backdrop for your dining pleasure. I was in the area for 4 days, and ate there twice. Both meals were average at best, but satisfying for sure. I tried the signature "Golden Eagle" drink, and was told that the machine was down so it would be poured a different way. It was pretty good. I was just surprised that on 4th of July weekend that the Hyatt would have such poor planning to have only 1 "Golden Eagle Machine" for such a huge holiday. I spent a pretty penny to get there, the Hyatt could have spent a penny for an extra "Eagle Machine". It was down all 4 days. The live music on Friday night was fantastic! Between the music Friday, and the spectacular views I'll give this place 3 stars, but overall it wasn't all that great. The Hyatt has a ways to go on making this a premier resort ala The One and Only Palmilla, but then again only Lake Tahoe has views like this!

The hours are deceiving. They wouldn't let us eat because it was 346pm and lunch ended at 3. The waitress was curt and when they couldn't even get our drinks because of some reason we wanted to leave and she said too late other drinks are poured and we have to pay for them? No food... No drinks... But pay??? What kind of messed up place is that??? And don't get me going about the valet who yelled at us " lot full" when we asked where to park... All in all not what you'd expect from a hyatt!!!! Never again!!!

Flying into Reno for some schussing at Tahoe, what do I find when I open the Spirit magazine on Southwest? A feature on Reno and Tahoe. In it was a place at the Hyatt called Lone Eagle Grille. Reading it almost made me drool. So we were determined to try it out, and soon. (BTW, did I mention I LOVE Southwest, and their magazine too?) After our first day of skiing, we scooted over to Incline Village. The restaurant is in a different building than the main hotel/casino. Got to the restaurant around 5:30, and I was pleasantly surprised that they could take us. Since it was early, we decided to go to the visitor's center to pay homage to the pond first and work up an appetite (the visitor's center up the road is a "must-see"; please leave a donation and not trash). Was further pleasantly surprised when we were led to a window table with a 24K view. I put my shades back on, and it was quite a way to witness a glorious sunset. Thank you, God! The menu was interesting and had adequate variety. Since the gamey dishes caught our eye, the 3 of us took the buffalo tenderloin, the elk chop, and the largest rack of lamb I've seen in recent memory (spring lamb this ain't, but it made the portion larger) - and sampled each other's dishes. Main course was avg $45 a piece. With 2 ladies, we decided to split 2 appetizers among the 3 of us. These babies were priced at $16 each. Initially, when I asked our waitress Debbie to do a 2-into-3 division, she declined, claiming reasons both mathematical (there are apparently TWO shrimps to the $16 appetizer), and artistic ("the presentation won't be nice..."). Instead of whipping out the slide-rule, I shrugged and let it go. Along the way, either a pang of conscience overcame her, or someone smacked her on the head. She came back to say they COULD do it after all, AND we'll get a bonus shrimp in the process. Good start. The cured salmon and shrimp (quite large, probably U-12 size) were both pleasant appetizers, but not jump-out-of-your-chair remarkable. We eagerly awaited our main courses. A comment on the wine. For a place that offered so much game, I was disappointed to see not a single Amarone offered. When I asked the young sommelier, he sheepishly apologized, and said they were at the "ideation" stage of bringing in such wines. I decided to go on a different tack, and took an '05 Rombauer merlot. At $64, the markup was not outrageous (usual retail $30-$33, but I've seen as low as $28). Which is more than I could say for the San Pellegrino - EIGHT smackeroos for something that's buck-and-a-half retail. We ordered a glass of sauvignon blanc to go with the appetizers, and I had to call Debbie over. Are you sure the bartender didn't give me a chard? She brought the bottle over to prove that the impostor was indeed (supposedly) a s.b. It's called Eagle Eye, not terrible if drunk as a chard, but an abomination as a s.b. I checked the price later - at $11 a glass, it's about a 4x mark-up. Cha-ching! What can I say about the entrees: they were not unpleasant per se - none of them. But they didn't even border on "remarkable". And with a reputation like theirs preceding them, at those prices, it can't be called anything but a disappointment. None of the meats had remarkable seasoning or taste. If I have to order up some dijon for the lamb, it's a sign of trouble. My wife said that the presentations were unspectacular as well, and I have to agree. Even the choices of accompanying vegetables were uninspired. Only the Rombauer saved the evening. And the dessert. That chocolate selection brought a sweet ending to the meal. Nice presentation, great taste, not overwhelmingly sweet, and even at $10, good value, especially for a pricey joint like this. A word on the service. Not terrible, but not great either. There was a lot of "is everything OK", and "how are things so far" from diff. individuals, but I'd almost prefer them to spend their time and energy attending to the needs instead of doing customer surveys. I witnessed our neighbor having to pour their own wine early on in the evening when they weren't CLOSE to being busy, which is INEXCUSABLE in a place like this. We weren't as over-looked, but I did have to fill my wife's water glass once. Two more things: one, if there are crumbs on the table, there is NO rule that they shouldn't be removed in that long pause between courses. Didn't happen. And this is bizarre: while I was working on my appetizer, Debbie intruded upon my munching to set down a steak knife! Any reason why that couldn't have happened AFTER I finish the course? In any case, why put down the right knife, without removing the dinner knife? Was going to give 3 stars, influenced by God's creation, not the chef's, but 3 stars means "A-OK", and I'm not OK with that. Food/service were pedestrian; at 3-and-a-quarter for 3 people, it just wasn't good value! "Meh" is a more appropriate rating.

My husband & I came here for dinner on Thursday night. We made a reservation that morning and didn't have any issue getting in. The restaurant is beautiful & right on the water. We got a great table by the window. I started with the mixed baby greens salad & Ryan got the french onion soup. The salad was okay...it was missing something, though. I can't put my finger on what, but it was a little off. The soup was fantastic; rather than being salty, it was sweet. For our main course I got the crab-stuffed sole and Ryan got the beef tenderloin. The sole was very good and the perfect amount of food. The tenderloin was also really good and the crab bearnaise was delicious. If you want an amazing view of the lake & good food, come here!

I enjoyed my meal at Lone Eagle. The staff was friendly and the menu was unique. It was overpriced but that seems par of the course on Tahoe. The locate cannot be beat and the live music was certainly a plus. If price was not a consideration, I would give 4 or 5 stars. Don't get me wrong, the food is good but at $45 a plate, I prefer to be wowed. The stand out for me was the beef carpaccio and the baked Tahoe.

Unfortunately, I have to post that the Lone Eagle is going down hill!!! We had the worst experience there the other night. I'm not sure if they've hired an incompetent staff for "Summer" or if they've gotten too big for their britches but we were so disappointed when we left! Service all the way around was horrid ... from the young female bartender with the snobby attitude to the waiter who ignored our table in the very front center of the room! After we waived him down and tried to make best of an awkward atmosphere (no music?)!?! Our waiter dropped off our bill (after he double checked how much to put on the credit card) ... and then thought we wouldn't notice that he was trying to charge us double!!! Was it because we were laughing and smiling that he thought we wouldn't catch it!?! Who knows BUT he was no where to be found when we brought the attention to the Manager in charge!!! Good luck on your next visit ... but I'll stick to Bite in Incline or even the Grill @ Incline Beach!!!

Great view of the lake with OK food. Definitely a good place to spend some time if you get an outdoor table during the day. Calimari was very good. Prosciutto sandwich was just a grilled cheese sandwich and not impressive.

My husband and I treated ourselves to a leisurely lunch at the Hyatt on our last day in Tahoe. It was a beautiful day and we were delighted to be seated outside on the patio, which offered both shade and a romantic view of the lake. My husband ordered the spinach salad with pan-seared scallops while I had broiled sand dabs with mushroom polenta. Both tasted fantastic, and the service was exceptional. We enjoyed walking out on the pier and viewing the beach from the water. It was a perfect way to end our vacation.

The decor of this restaurant is outstanding. I usually dont really care much at all for that type of thing but in this case it made my dining experience even better. The outside seating is great as well because you are literally right on the beach by the lake. The food is very good and the pretzel bread is great.

Really great bar with a fantastic view of the lake. There is indoor and outdoor seating, but neither area is very large, so getting a table during peak hours can be tricky. The food selection isn't huge, but what they do have is very good. They have a full bar with a lot of signature drinks that are all very good. Wine selection is ok, but by the glass options is more limited. Service is generally pretty good in the bar and lounge area. The nights that they have live music are really busy, but the musicians are fantastic. Get a drink, a bite to eat and you can easily enjoy several hours here.

We had a dinner reservation on Tuesday 22 May, at 7.30pm-we were arrived early and the hostess was kind enough to seat us before the reservation time. -Dinner was OK-our appetizer came cold and I had the Panko Portobello Salad which was very tart, acidic taste and my girlfriend had the Grilled Shrimp Salad which as well the artichokes were very firm and no flavor of the dish what's so ever. We order 2 NY Steaks-which they came 2 minutes after they clear the appetizer plates-which means that the food was seating in to the window kitchen for some time-the steak did not feel fresh cook and as well just warm, the gnocchi were hard and cold, one of the steaks had a strange flavor of some kind of 'chemical'-it may be coming from the grill. The table set-up very poor-the table cloth had few holes in it, the glass ware were not clean you still can see that they were not polish and finger marks all over them, we found crumbs on our chairs and the noise coming from the bar was extremely loud . For such a highly recommended restaurant paying a $ 100 a head the Overall all experience was a very POOR.

I can't believe I'm writing a rave review on food in a Hyatt hotel. We stayed at the Hyatt for the weekend after Thanksgiving and decided to have a nice dinner at the Hyatt's signature restaurant. One problem was that the restaurant is actually across the street from the hotel and the snow was falling at the rate of about an inch an hour. No problem as it turned out though. The hotel's most awesome valet staff shuttled us across the street in a GMC Yukon Denali. The restaurant itself is striking in design. You enter into an upstairs lobby and go down to a very nice, airy lounge with a huge fireplace. The hostess was able to seat us very quickly and despite the short wait, we still were quickly attended to by a cocktail server. The dining room as that mountain style that you'd expect in a hotel venue in Tahoe. Kitschy for sure, but not overpoweringly nerdy. I have to give a special shout out to the bar staff for delivering a perfect Manhattan. The food: it was a very good sign of what was to come when they brought the pretzel roll and butters. Delicious! My wedge salad was most excellent, but it was the entree that we need to talk about. The entree I selected was the beef tenderloin with truffled mashed potatoes, a roasted red onion, green beans and wine reduction. The flavors all worked together perfectly. The first taste I had with the beef was a wonderful, smoky flavor that reminded me of the Kobe Tri-Tip I'd had at Sage in Las Vegas. Everything was cooked perfectly. Topped off the meal with a cheesecake with huckleberry sauce. The really cool thing that they did on this one was to have an extra dollop of the sauce off to the side on the plate so you could be sure to get some sauce on each bite. When the meal was done, our server arranged to have the shuttle meet us for the ride back to the hotel. All I can say in summation was that they just did everything right at Lone Eagle.

Terrible experience today. Waited forever for service, which never improved. I couldn't"t believe it! The staff were standing around waiting for dinner guests I suppose, but in the meantime if you wanted a glass of wine at the end of the day, forget it! Very pretty view of the lake however that can,t be beat!

I love this place for several reasons, but I could do without some others... We arrived a bit early for our reservation at 9:45pm, so we figured we'd check out the deck-bar over the water, only to find out that we were too late and they were closing up shop. They denied our request for a drink, but offered a round to a couple that came after us...What? Fail. So, we opted to sit on the patio outside of the Grille while we waited, overlooking the beautiful beach and mountainous backdrop...not a bad alternative! What a picturesque and relaxed environment with great art work and if you can, snag a table looking outwards toward the gorgeous lake! When we were seated, we were lucky enough to get a table outside on the patio next to a heat lamp! Great space, although we did wonder about the choice of foliage used to decorate the table...house plants? Overall, It was away from the noise in the dining room, but close enough to the guitarist who was playing nostalgic acoustic tunes! Purrrrrfect! The service is good...our wait staff was awesome, with the exception of the sommelier who didn't even bother to come to our table after we requested a recommendation from him for our dishes, so our kind server gave us some suggestions and happily, they paired perfectly! Good save! And now, the food...We ordered the Zucchini Soup and the Gazpacho for starters, both were opposite in taste and flavors, but were very good on their own. I favored the Gazpacho for its cool and crisp lightness. For my main dish, I had the COLOSSAL Shrimp and Linguini...It was exactly what I was craving, but I never knew I would ever see such COLOSSAL Shrimp! They were HUGE, yet did not lose points in taste. My love had the Grilled Buffalo Tenderloin. It was surprisingly tender, moist and perfectly grilled, not gamey as we expected. It's definitely something you HAVE to try! We didn't do dessert, because we bought a smores kit to share by the firepit, but I'm sure we wouldn't have been disappointed! Overall, our experience was well worth it!

Great view and atmosphere. Love the live music. The wine list is incredible. The menu has different and interesting meat selections. Never disappointed.
